I'm convinced that Jeff was a brilliant marketing executive in his other life (the one before the rock star gig). He comes onto to Journey's boards and says nothing but good things about Perry and how Perry was a big influence in his musical life. That gets all the Perry loyalists (myself included) onboard with this guy. I mean...The guy likes Perry...how bad can he be? He is then smart enough not to badmouth Augeri, so he keeps all the wiggle weirdos happy. This brings me to my next point. Because the guy is now fronting my favorite band and counts my favorite vocalist as a big influence, I owe it to the guy to go a purchase some of his music, right? Well, I went onto amazon.com last night to purchase some JSS music, and am now officially broke!
What's up with the price of your cd's Jeff?? Are they all gold-plated? Shit, some of those audio CD's are over $30! $30 for one CD in 2006? I hope you're at least getting some solid profits off of these prices

Well, I did my part and made a "donation". I think these are the most expensive cd's I've ever bought in my life. Hell, were they even this expensive back when cd's came out? I don't believe they were!

John,
I don't think most of them were released in the U.S. Therefore, they have to be imported and imports are always more unfortunately. The plus side is that at least you are paying for some QUALITY music instead of most of the crap I spent money on in the past only to find out for $15.00 I got two good songs and the rest sucked!

Hey, I was foolish enough to buy "Generations". I figure it certainly can't be any worse than that was to my ears!

I don't set the prices on my stuff, I have no control over them & no, not really, I don't see much profit on them at all. I get small advances to them but honestly you have to sell about 50,000+ to see any real royalties after advances, manufacturing, distribution, etc., I'm the last on the totem pole to get paid as there are many costs to be incurred 1st. On other albums/past projects where I was 'paid' up front, I get NOTHING from future sales even if the things sold 1,000,000 as is the case of Boogie Knights, I have no rights to sell it myself therefore cannot set the prices, sorry guys, wish I could help...but thanks for picking it up, hope you're not disappointed!

Now they say the plane is owned by New York Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle. Not sure if he was on it.

John, Augeri did most of these things, and the PerryFreaks wanted him tarred, feathered and swinging from the gallows.
What's the difference?

The perception of what Augeri sounded like made it too close for the comfort of a lot of Loons, TNC. The same reason why some of those fringies were celebrating during the Gens tour when Castronovo blew a chord.
JSS sounds different enough.

Plus JSS is replacing Augie, not Perry (directly).

I know this is true, but it's such BS logic it makes me sick. Kevin Chalfant could be up there replacing Augeri and they would be saying the same things as they are about JSS.

I'm not so sure.
Monker says Perryfans were tearing down Chalfant as a Perry clone as far back as during The Storm.
He says some Perry fans even claimed Kevin was trying to dress and act like Perry.
If he were to replace Augeri, such criticisms could likely start back up again.

Never underestimate the failed logic of Perryfans... they would forget all about The Storm as long as Augeri was gone.
