"Frontiers" re-release

Postby conversationpc » Sun Oct 15, 2006 12:09 pm

Just picked up the re-release version of "Frontiers" this evening...

A few comments...

Did anyone else notice that they fixed the spacing on the cover art of the band name and album name? On my remastered verson from '96, they were both woefully offcenter.

The digipak...I hate them. I switched out the CD and booklet with the remastered version from '96. The digipaks are just too easy to damage and are cheap-looking.

The additional pictures and tour info is great but why were the lyrics left out? They could've added those and not made the booklet too much bigger.

The remastered version of "Only Solutions" definitely sounds a bit different but not as radically as some of the others here have commented.

I have only seen the booklet online, since I haven't been able to get any of the re-issues except Escape and GH. It sucks to be broke ! :( But some where down the line I will get all of them.

Anyway, I am thinking they are forgoing the lyrics to put in the pics that haven't been seen.

I have heard the remastered version of "Only Solutions", and I do hear some difference in it.

I thought it sounded a lot different... then again, I am a fan of the song and I know the original enough to notice slight changes. 8)

So far, the only one I’ve bought is Frontiers……my only complaint is that there are no lyrics. The main reason I bought it is the re-mastered version of “Ask The Lonely”, and it sounds much better than the original version I had. Only Solutions sounds great too.

"Ask the Lonely" was remastered for "Greatest Hits" in '96.

If you have an awesome set of speakers like I do, Polk Audio/SDA-SRS, they stand 5'8, they weigh 150 lbs. each, 3 electro-static tweeters/ea. has 8 mid-range woofers, 18" passive radiators...550 watts for ea. speaker...thus the re-issues sound defined and the highs are really crisp and the lows are very defined. The vocals never clip! $$$$ well-spent...
