San Bernadino - Wow

One of the best shows I have EVER seen ANYWHERE.

Top 5 without a doubt and a fine and proud moment for a band that just seems to be truly getting into gear and turning it up a notch every night.
I think another band has been feeling the heat.

Comments on tonight's show on the frontpage now :)

Its 2am, I'm beat...relaxing tomorrow thank God!

After reading Andrew's reviews, is there really any doubt about the band's future now? Seriously?

Andrew,

I am so glad that you could make it to the States and have a great time seeing Journey. Your articles are just awesome ! I wish they had dusted off "I'll Be Alright Without You" when I saw them in August.

Now it looks like you get to do the tourist thing............. relaxing and shopping ! Have fun doing that ! :D

Basically, spot on Andrew, but just a little heads up....

It's San Bernardino, not San Bernadino. No biggie.

What's funny to me, literally, is I wrote the same exact thing for Boston, and had many naysayers. Andrew basically writes the same exact thing (and 100% corect by the way), and people take it as gospel.

Andrew, you know Albuquerque is only an hour flight? What you doin tomorrow? From here on in, the tour is all indoors. The sound will be even better.

HAH!...Deano beat me to it, lol!

But definitely otherwise right on the mark. Despite having some of the crappiest seats I've had in years for a Journey show ("only" row 26 orchestra, lol), last night was definitely a keeper. Special kudos to Deen...that guy's vocals just keep getting better and better.

Glad to hear they soundchecked "Rubicon," but immensely bummed it didn't end up in last night's set.

Sorry I didn't get to meet you this time, Andrew...maybe next time you come stateside?

And if you promise to spell San Bernardino right from this day forward, I vow never to mangle Queanbeyan, Kalgoorlie, or Wagga Wagga.

Deal?

;^)

I knew you were lurking John, ans knowing the journalist you are, I knew you were going to correct him..lol

Rubicon has been soundchecked for awhile now. So has After the Fall.

First of all, all I have read is the same old propaganda BS that has always been said. It is exagerated out of proportion with a sense of fantasy and not based on reality.

I doubt Journey will ever have a 'hit' album again. I doubt Journey will ever have a 'hit' single (on pop charts...not lame AC, or whatever chart). I doubt Journey will ever be able to tour these size of venues on their own ever again. I doubt Journey will ever equal the "success" of Arrival, let alone make some kinda huge comeback. I doubt the band that exists today will exist as they are now five years from now. I doubt they will take enough time away from touring to make an album worthy of the Journey catalog.

I have many doubts about this band and their future - MANY.

The thing is Monkey, they don't have to do any of this to sell...their fan base reaches back so far that they don't have to prove anything at this point. We aren't talking a band full of 20 year olds, these guys have done all that. Aerosmith, Rolling Stones....they haven't done anything different ...they are still selling and hot as ever. You sound like they have NO PLACE TO GO, that's just foolishness. There will always be Journey fans, no matter what they release it will be purchased and 5 years from now....there will still be Journey.

Propaganda? It's easy to sit here and bitch about EVERYTHING isn't it? You have that down to a science.

I doubt Journey will ever have a 'hit' album again.

So do I. However, I have NEVER said they would either.

I doubt Journey will ever be able to tour these size of venues on their own ever again.

Unless you are named Bruce Springsteen or the Rolling Stones, touring by yourself is a thing of the past.

I doubt Journey will ever equal the "success" of Arrival,

I'll take that bet. Arrival had success? Yeah, I'll take this bet, thank you.

let alone make some kinda huge comeback.

I'll take this bet too. Don't underestimate the power of a true frontman.

I doubt the band that exists today will exist as they are now five years from now.

There is only one possible faction I think mught leave and it isn't happening anytime soon.

I doubt they will take enough time away from touring to make an album worthy of the Journey catalog.

I will bet you my car on this. There will be a new CD late next year

.
I have many doubts about this band and their future - MANY.

So you don't doubt Steve Augeri is gone? I need to hear you answer this.[/quote]

Andrew - didn't you say you'd sell your Grandma to see this tour? I don't remember if you did or not... ;) If so, was it worth it?

I am very much looking forward to your interviews. Thanks so much for visiting us here in the states and have a safe trip home.

Shit, they won't need much time away from touring to make an album. JSS & Neal both eat, breathe and shit music. Bet they put something together much faster than you think. :D

Yeah.. and I'd be willing to bet that all that's left is a trip to the recording studio.
