TVL, you are answering your own question, I think.

From all accounts, on these forums and in-person (met him a few times myself), Jeff is VERY grounded, approachable and easy to talk to. He's said it himself, he's just a big fan of the music too. Just because we are ALL fans of Journey doesn't mean that we are always just gonna say nice things. I think, and this is just my opinion, that Jeff enjoys interacting in here to get the 'true' feelings of the fans as well as just enjoying all the insane banter that goes on.
You gotta admit, if you're in this band and looking for some no-nonsense, straight-shooting critiques, this is DEFINITELY the place to get it

I never said he wasn't good- hes not--hes great. from the boots I have ssen recently, he is absolutely awesome and can't wait to see him in Nov. I have been a Journey fan and Steve Perry since way before u were born. No more shit from u please--notice I said please Who gave him crap?????
