Wow. For something that Joe claims is no big deal, he spent a lot of time and space on that response. I still think the "YEAH" album blows chunks. I'm glad they only played one or two tracks from it on this tour. And "Rock On" IS horrible, no matter who sings it.

No matter who's "side" one is on, Joe makes himself look like a pompous ARSE, while at the same time, getting free publicity for Melodicrock.com thrown in for good measure. Either way, Andy smells like a frickin' rose garden.

After seeing Joe's other responses I find it hard to believe he wrote this himself...

Did Andrew really say boring as bat shit? I'm no fan of Def Leppard, but that's harsh. Many artists do take reviews personal (had someone said this about TOTO, Lukather might have re-interpreted this comment as 'die motherfucker, die.')

I did say that - about the song 'Rock On' at least. Horrible. On the other hand, I said Waterloo Sunset was quite superb - which it is

Leave it to Joe to shift blame back Andrews way.

In hindsight it's easy for Elliot to take the attitued, "I was there, I woulda met with Andrew, he knows what I look like and could've grabbed me."

However, knowing the way he absolutely FLIPPED OUT over this thing, If I don't blame Andrew for being cautious. You have to go to one of his yes men first or risk a potentially extremely negative reaction from Joe

I didn't see anything wrong with what Joe Elliot said. He was just telling his side of the story. Nothing wrong with that. I didn't see him as being arrogant or anything.

Theres 3 sides to a story, in this case theres Andrew's, Joe's and the Truth both sides present a certain side of truth and the rest is what each side internalizes as being the truth. Both sides are wrong and both sides have elements of being correct .Even if "Rock on" sucks as a song(which i tend to agree-never liked this song) if they got it to reach number 1 for 5 weeks that says alot about what they did. It sure in hell helped them sell out various shows on the tour. When something goes number 1 people want to see that band -thats a given.

Actually what Joe said was

I heard he was going to be there, Jeff Scott Soto told me. I said to Jeff that if he wants to apologise for going 2 years early on a review for an album that wasn't even finished, that was the only way I would entertain any interaction. Miraculously, I'm told some sort of apology went out on his website a couple of days later!

I took that to mean that the apology appeared after Joe talked to Jeff, not after the Bowl.

I think Joe makes it clear that it's not the negativity that upsets him, it's the fact that the review was of an unfinished product.

Interesting...Drew you did fly all the WAY there, shame it didn't happen. I DO find it hard to believe that Joe knew everything that went on backstage...I wonder what was said to Drew...some 'hangar-on' knew of the controversy and said something maybe?

Ahh well, no sweat off Drew's balls (I hope). I haven't heard jack-s#!@ from Def Leppard...at least people still make fun of Journey..lol
