Everytime I see or hear WYLAW I think of what could have been...

Yes Perry is a major asshole...but man...in the day...what pipes...what a great writing talent...what a waste for the last 10 years...Dodger Games, some backing vox, remastering the catalog and the occasional tidbit from Fan Asylum...what a waste of talent.

You are so right
You see what a lack of confidence will do to you
If you are afraid to do it then guess what you won't
Steve Perry get to the steam room and clear out that thoat and warm up the pipes
The Journey is not over,

Right on. I love SP but that's history and it's fun to look back.

Perry is THE voice. Sadly, he chooses to stay in the shadows. I respect that choice, I dont like it, but I respect it! Kudos to JSS for continuing the fun!

Well I "love, Love, LOVE" it, but I get a little irritated when he sings about the 'band of gold' or whatever and then points to his middle finger...

In watching this video, I almost forget that he crushed a 10-year old's shining little moment (yours)... It's hard to believe that he could do such a thing and still make this glorious music... I've been thinking about your experience with him and I still can't quite forgive him; I guess I imagine one of my kids wanting his autograph at 10.. I felt crushed, too.

That is a great song and Perry looked great there!.....don't know if you can say the last 10 year's of his life are a waste, though! We don't know what he has been up to. Seem's to me he has been doing some charity work and helping out some friend's...that can't be considered a waste of time! ....the man ain't dead yet! He may still come back and sing again! Keeping the faith!

That's okay, please don't repost it. I have actually read it before. I'm sorry that happened to you, RVR.

Well, IF Perry did do that, that suck's! doesn't mean he is the same person today, plus it is only hearsay! Doesn't mean it's true! That's why I don't read crap like the Enquirer! Can't trust alot that's put out by the press! Hate gossip! It should not be passed around as fact!

?? Sorry, but the sad fact is it came straight from RossValoryRocks... He experienced it directly and it did affect him... I hope SP has changed, too; but that thud you heard was one of my idols hitting the ground...

TVL, maybe you can start a thread like, "My Personal Experience with S Perry," instead of: a guppy story; or what I heard Jay Leno say in my dreams. Now, THAT would be interesting...

No IF about it...
It happened...May 10th, 1980...Pittsburgh Pennsylvania...
Perry was a dick to a 10 year old kid...ME...
If my dad hadn't shown some restraint Journey would have needed a new singer right then.
Love the voice...despise the person singing with it...

Ya know what gets me about this story????? Yeah, what he did was not COOL..AT ALL..BUT..he's not the same person, he's old, mature and has mellowed.
And tell me you haven't pissed on someone at sometime in your life??? Give the dude a big freaking break.

Good point Val. Maybe he was just in a really bad mood that nite. Maybe he'd apologize now if given a chance. I'm not perfect. I've done things I regret. I'm human. Why do we expect celebs to be superhuman?

Maybe he has...I wouldn't know...I don't care to know. I will never meet the man again, I don't even care to do so.
And yes I have pissed on a few people, sometimes with good reason, other times with no reason...none of them were a 10 year old kid who was doing nothing but standing patiently waiting for a chance to speak to me.
So why should I give Perry a break? Because he is old now? Fuck that. In life you usually only get ONE chance to make an impression, and he made quite the impression on me. I wouldn't cross a road to piss on Steve Perry if he was on fire and needed put out.

How about just human? With a little human decency? To often Celebs get a free pass...which is what it sounds like Val wants to do with Perry. Fuck him. He acted completely out of line.
I wasn't an adult at the time, I was a kid. I learned a lot that night about people though.
