I seem to recall a competing idea, that Journey, technically shouldn't have to make new music, because the fans that still come to shows only want to hear the 'dirty dozen', not new music...That for one is complete b.s., IMHO, even if the Journey Concert buying public only wants to hear Open Arms, and Faithfully (both of which Dean Castronovo can do better than Perry today), a band should not be devoid of the need and natrual desire to create new music, unless they have lost all of their 'talent' and are simply in it for the money... That I don't buy, especially with a group this talented (but unfortunately under less than passionate management...) Pending no natural disasters in the world, or another member being 'replaced', it's inevitable they will record, and we will hear some new music. And I'm sure I'll enjoy the bulk of the album..I will say that the boots I have heard, one in particular a Soundboard, with JSS, did not impress me much (Though Dead or Alive sounded particularlygood). I think this new lineup will take the band in a new direction. I hope not quite Soul Sirkus, definitely Journey though...We shall see
Anyway, yeah everyone, onto new material, bring it, test out track live. Why not?
