Can't Tame the Lion, the bonus track, Message of Love, When You Love a Woman and especially Easy to Fall.
I easily remember those songs in my head after lots of spinning.
The other ones are really normal songs. Good record, not excellent.

Underrated Journey tunes on TBF

Postby StoneCold » Mon Oct 23, 2006 8:11 pm

1. If He Should Break Your Heart
2. Forever In Blue

Awesome songs that aren't mentioned much. Smitty's drum work was phenomenal on this album.

"Trial by Fire" really is an excellent song.
"Can't Tame the Lion" is a pretty good rocker, but I've tired of it.
Jap bonus - "I can see it in your eyes" - is the best rocker
They got nominated for a grammy for "WYLAW", but its lame and lacks staying power
"Message of Love" falls flat live...and that is a mark of a good j tune
"One More" is different and good
"If he should break your heart" is actually a pretty good mid-tempo tune

Flush the rest

I'll take anything post-perry over this album to be honest

Notice how he closes his eyes when he said it
His facial expression said no way am I touring in the summer.

Can't download this but is it the one where Steve talks about dancing around his office and styling his vocals after Sam Cooke and motown people?

Thanks. I've noticed what Froy was talking about. I just thought it because he was not sure if his health would really hold up for it.

I think you're right sherrie. According to Steve's later accounts, that interview would be just about the time he was beginning to have problems with his hip.

Damn I thought he seemed very sincere about wanting to tour. See everyone has an opinion.

It makes your head spin regarding all that could have beens should have beens---etc... :)

stadium tour no doubt ---would have been top tour in 1997-1998----Whatever era of music we were in then would have been soooo outpaced by Journey---come back artist of the year...when you love a women might have actually got the grammy... and more hits. Cant tame the lion is a great rocker!!! I love it and Message of Love awesome too---would love to hear JSS sing it!!

Watching this makes me miss Steve Smith. He was awesome. No offense to Deen, but I'd rather have Smith on drums. His kit just has a deeper, better sound to me. His playing has such finesse to it. Awesome drummer.

Smitty is better than Deen in every conceivable way. Just shows how great Smitty is because Deen is an excellent drummer.
