No heat here...

I've just seen
this lineup twice
and i must say,
he ain't no perry
mean no ill will,. by all
rights ths lineup should be even
better. standing them next to each other, new
guys is in reality cuter, sexier, much more
rock & roll, much cooler... than perry ever was
but there is an intrensic with perry,
an intrensic with Neal and perry together
that creates an unexplainable heat,
new guy is probably more palatble with masses, critics
but what ever it is that made me not care how uncool it
was to love this band, that magic that made the music rise
above the mass palatable rest,
it is not here.
Not sure it can be again
closest would be for perry to work his ass, off and get his self and esp his voice in shape, for jrny to find an amazing producer that can pull out the best and flush the crap
if, if, if
lot of ifs and egos and mountains
but i'm sry. the heat is gone.
neal is still amazing enough to keep the embers burning, but ...

ps. not about any loyalty to any one. I'd love it if they could recapture something
but i just don't feel it. a lot of people I know don't get it. like better than last lineup, but still nothing to go knock one off their seat.
just one op in this crowd of believers

I went to the two shows bc of this place. have read here a lot. came back around about june, bc of scandal. got excited bc of excitement around here about new lineup.
no regrets. glad i went. just didn't float my boat.
obviously in minority here, which is fine with me. just throwing my op as well
we don't all have to wear rose glasses, do we
need a new pair, if so

Don't wear rose colored glasses here. Doesn't look good on my face.

Anyway, I am a Journey realist, and JSS has the powerhouse pipes to sing the songs. Nuff said.

No just an observation. Strange 1st post and I wonder where that is coming from. Stick around, add to the board and I will lay off.

Until then you are a BT water buffalo.

home boy,

Never listen to Journey with 2 cocks in your ear holes, its not meant to be heard that way. This could be why you don't get it and sound so stupid. Just a guess.

Is this a fuckin' opinion or a poem? Hard to tell. Try to make your point in less than 10,000 words next time. And here's a good idea; use spell check. It's much easier to read your ambiguous argument if the words are spelled correctly.

Okay, so you're saying simply that you don't see the kind of "heat" that existed between Neal and Perry in the current line up? Is that a good summation?

Thanks for sharing your opinion.

No, he/she said he/she LIKED them, but didn't LOVE them. :D

Maybe I should take in a concert now with JSS at the singing helm, so that I can make an informed decision myself. Last time I went when Steve A. was fronting, it was just boring. I actually remember yawning. Maybe hearing the classics sung by JSS would put wings on my feet, who knows?

I'm also getting to the point where I don't particular like a concert that much unless I'm only a few rows away from the stage.

The current lineup gets along great. Next question?

Dude, are you trying to write bad poetry here or something? Try using complete sentences and paragraphs. Makes it much easier to read.

would be nice if post was speled corect al th wy thru... :)

Most love JSS is because he is bringing back the STAGE presence that Perry once had!! He has the pipes to outshine the band---that Augeri did not have---and I loved the Augeri lineup--- The way the chemistry is on this tour.... I would not doubt that Journey can be the close to the force it once was!! given the correct TLC. That said, I dont need Journey to be a POP band!! I want them to ROCK... with maybe a power ballad in there for a bonus on their next cd.

MY other op--- This person probably possted a similar thread back in 1999 during the vacations over tour... :)

Let's hear him sing Open Arms, Faithfully, and Where Were You to name a few.
Jeff's a great singer, but in the range department, he falls short.

Jeff sang Open Arms and Faithfully at the Nissan Pavilion show in July. He sang them just fine that night. I think it's just a case of spreading the wealth so to speak.
