Well, it was the first post for me since May. I was simply informing people to be patient, because in a few days all questions, fears, speculation, and answers would be provided. I complimented Andrew and said he deserved the right to be the one to make these announcements since he has been doing it since the Perry days. I also said it was all but confirmed JSS would be permanent, and there were talks of a new album. I finished by saying Journeys future is so bright Neal had to wear shades. He came back and asked where my inside information was, and hwo all these people were putting down those who wanted to wait for word from the 'official" site. I did nothing of the sort. Just trying to give folks a little info. He then made a totally seperate thread, and even his own were telling him to shut up. Anyone who knows me here knows I don't stir crap. The post was deleted within 30 minutes. Anything that comes from Andrew is not speculation in my book, and then to find out he is among us is really something. As far as I'm concerned, Andrew is Journey's official spokesman, and deserves to be.

The official site has its purpose - promo for the band....and I'm not going to bash it.

What I don't get is the jealousy of some like Nancy whenever Andrew has information. Even CJ will admit that journeymusic.com isn't necessarily going to be "first" with every little tidbit.

It isn't a competition. But Nancy feels its his role to stand up for some fictional official Journey stance, which to be honest doesn't exist. There isn't this heirachy of management that he seems to think there is.

He is by far the most annoying creep I've ever come across.

You know, the interesting thing (at least to me) is that over at BT, you're supposed to "tow the party line," or you'll get canned.

Here, there's a party line too. If you don't tow it, you may not get canned, but everyone who opposes it decides it's their job to vomit all over you.

Not long ago, someone came to this site from that other site saying how great it was that they could post whatever they wanted here. I intoned that if you didn't mind your opinion being trashed if it was disagreed with, then this was the place. The response from that person was something to the effect that he'd rather be told his opinion is crap than have be told (oh so politely) that he couldn't post his dissenting opinion over there.

Does anyone else NOT see that these are simply TWO sides to the same coin? Apparently there are those HERE who believe ANY opinion NOT shared by them is open season and not only do they have the right to disagree with it, but they also (somehow) possess the right to make the most idiotic, asinine, crap-filled statements ABOUT the person, not just the person's OPINION. How did THAT happen?

It happened because Deano got the lip-sync'g thing right and now he is Andrew's god, therefore Deano can spew as much as he wants to and only when he crosses some line (that is apparently constantly moving) does Andrew step in with a warning, and possibly a vacation.

Recently, all I saw was Andrew sucking up to Deano for all he was worth because of some supposed mistep that Andrew did toward Deano.

This is absurd. There is no freedom of speech or thought here and certainly the "rules of debate" are not followed. The only rule that seems to be followed is one person trying to outdo another person with caustic remarks.

Andrew, I suggest you rename this forum to "Journey's Animal House." Deano can be Bluto and the rest of us can be fodder for his dislike of anything that doesn't square with his view of Journey. Somehow I find that John Belushi's Bluto is much more compelling and interesting...as opposed to Deano's "I'm going to shit here now, then I'm going to shit over there. And your 'right to voice your opinion' should have a disclaimer about being prepared to be told how wrong your opinion is. TNC is even taking Andrew to task about the single vocalist theory. And I have gone rounds with TNC in the past. I know how he posts. He is merely entering debate, but as I have told him before, he has a way of sounding like he is saying 'you are wrong and I am right' to Andrew. And that is the mentality here often...

It must be the way u discussed things w/TNC jrnyman28 b/c I've had a lot of discussion & debate w/TNC myself via PM. He is a very reasonable, interesting & intellectual person. He doesn't at all act like he's right & ur wrong, unless he IS right & UR wrong, but even then, if discussed reasonably, he's very charming about it. TNC is, in my opinion, one of the most interesting posters here. There are, of course, several others that make this forum interesting.

I was a new poster on this board & I didn't find TNC problematic or offensive or self righteous. In fact, he was always reasonable. I was terrified of Dean as a new poster here. I saw how he could go off on people & do it in a way that others took his side but I noticed he only seemed to do it when there was some cause to do so. Again, that might have to do w/approach. He didn't ever go off on me, interestingly enough. Maybe I never said anything to give him cause? Having talked to Dean privately, I realized very quickly that he's a great guy & as he says himself, the ultimate fan. So far, there has only ever been one person on this board who has gone off on me. But he's anything but reasonable. TNC & Dean are reasonable IMHO. They just don't suffer fools who post as if they know it all & are talking a load of crap.
