JSS posting in an official capacity

Sadly the previous Journeyswag manager (who recently stepped down and was replaced by the big news story of the year: Steve Toomey!) has passed away. He had stepped down due to those health concerns.
But I find it interesting that JSS made the announcement and that it was signed as all "band" posts are...with the initials of each member of Journey. JSS' initials are there, SA's are not. According to the "official" announcement Steve is still a member of Journey right?

Noticed that, wasn't gonna bring it up.
It's gonna be exceptionally hard for the band to move on if we micro-analyze every waking move.

Don't be a wise ass.
You know the score.

Reading far too into it...it was something for our friend from those of us who were going onstage & got the news before showtime, stop making a mountain from a molehill, it was meant from us as it was written by me!

I like that you are the band's presence online JSS....you are a very good communicator, and the message really was written well, and you could feel the heavy heart.

Welcome to Journey in the Cyber Age.
Seriously, people remember Augeri being under the microscope when he first started w/ the guys. They ain't seen nothing yet!
At least back then Journey discussion was sequestered to newsgroups.
How does it feel having probably the most unenviable job in rock?

Yeah, I agree Dave. But, he could just be "steppin' up to the plate" and expressing his condolences.

Augeri delegated himself a backseat role in the band largely because 1) he was humble, and 2) he prolly felt slightly unqualified.
Right now we have a frontman that wants to be out front.
Let's hope it lasts.

I saw the post too,TNC. I posted my condolences to RP's family, and left it at that.

Thank you Jeff, really the post was more tongue-in-cheek. I know this board likes to "micro-analyze".
There are several other Journey "family" members that could have been mentioned as well.

You see, Dave? This is why you should post a lot more here. You're brief and to the point, but you seem to fit a lot in! I'm taking notes...

Such as?
Look, should the band mention it if Perry flushes a pet goldfish down one of his many gold plated, King Louis the XVI-style commodes?
Or what about when Fleishman buries another strangled underage girl in his vegetable garden?
The answer is declaratively no, no, no.
PS I read ur comments about Bat Out of Hell III. U couldnt be more wrong. This is easily the album of the year and am ready to get my ass flagellated for brazenly admitting as much.

I hardly read BT at all since this place is more "busy" it seems, but thanks for making me go there to read that. Jeff's words were perfect & heartfelt, & just confirms to me even more what an amazing man he is, what incredible heart & soul.
C-ya in Orlando in a few Jeff!
(come to the ILAA party, lol

Making a mountain from a molehill? Isn't that part of what this forum is supposed to be about? Among othe things, we discuss Journey, their music, the bandmembers, and SPECULATE about what might or might not be going on within the ranks. Nothing wrong with that.

Well, we could have been reminded or Craig. Much was made of his passing so he could have been included. Also, Steve's.....nevermind, he never existed anyway, right?

Pucker up.
Just remember, if I am offering my opinion than I cannot be wrong...

Sheesh. Why is there so much made out of this? Jeff posts and signs the initials of the current Journey line up & there's an uproar that he didn't include Augeri? He included the CURRENT lineup. the one he's in. That's it. No deeper meaning than that.
To be PC, I guess he should have included Perry, Rolie, Fleishman, Tickner, Baird, London, Smith, Jackson, Glaub, Prince, Dunbar, did I miss anyone? I guess Herbie & Azhoff too. Oh Craig should have been in there? Ok, what about all the photographers & videographers they ever used, the techs, the road crew, the mods of BT...heck I guess Andrew as he runs a Journey forum, all the mods of Augeriville, Perryville, better include whoever runs Jeff's site. Fuck it. Let's throw in all the fans names too. That way no one is left out.
Come on, get real. Current lineup is plenty.

And there you have the initial point for all to dissect. I was having fun with the way anyone can easily take anything said and make it 'prove' what s/he wants. For "us" who "know" that JSS is now in Journey his post could easily lend 'proof' of such.

Like TNC indicated. It's not an enviable position. Andrews interviews will be screwed, glued and tatooed before the day is out, after they are posted. It's a chanch you take that someone is going to be offended by something said or written.

& it will be argued by those who still believe SA is coming back that the official word has not changed & this is just JSS posting as he's on the road w/them!!!
Sheesh, I will really be glad when Andrew's interviews come out, the "official word" gets updated, & whatever fallout occurs, then we can all try to heal & maybe even relax a little. Well let's not get too hopeful. I'm sure there will always be arguments about who was the better lead singer. But wouldn't it be nice to think we could actually talk about the music just a little bit again?

Hopefully when they have something new to talk about. Right on, JR.

Bat 3 is Meatloaf-a-licious with all the orchestral saucepan fixins.
If you haven't yet - pick it up!
