Looks Like Announcement Is Imminent...And On BT, No Less!!!

It seems to me that we should have an announcement any day now on what we already know. CJ mentioned that BT will have a "statement", before Andrew publishes his interview with the guys. Go figure...Journey is actually going to make an announcement on their "official website" before it's published everywhere else, first! What a novel concept! Maybe there is hope for BT, afterall. Who knows, maybe they'll even someday allow for open and honest discussion on that site and get rid of all of the moronic "Let's hear it for Augeri's wiggle" bullshit!

someone's been hitting the bottle again.

Could it be that she said that, but it's not actually gonna happen that way? Just because it's said, doesn't make it so.

This is GREAT news. This way, all of the "new" people this board has had will go back over there and start threads about "Isn't BT The Greatest?" and "Hooray For CJ." At any rate, the way they've been getting trounced by this site as far as discussion, real band participation and new information goes, they deserve a bone. Still, it's like a handing a skydiver a parachute 50 feet from the ground. That site's end is imminent.

I think Andrew deserves the scoop - the band has completely ignored the 'official' site and there is no effort made there but the bare minimum. Nothing new behind the scenes, no recent video, no interviews, no youtube allowed, etc.... Maybe they are trying to breathe a little validity back into BT.

I ain't taking sides but, come on, maybe the band and management are trying to set things right in the BT world and this is the right thing to do. We know that management has been way too silent in the past on 'hot topics' and Drew has alwys been our main source but maybe, just maybe, management and the band want to make sure that the Official Site gets word first so that all the "Official Statement" worshipers can't sit and criticize Drew's report as inaccurrte, biased and pure speculation. Think about it, that has been the root of many-a-wars here and there; Those of us here KNOW what's been going on and what's gonna happen while folks there deny it all because of the 4-month old Official Statement.
By doing it this way, The Official Site gets to make the announcement first and Drew's report will explain the annaoncement, why change was needed and where we go from here.
It's a win-win for both sites...
I think Drew is secure enough with his "Celebrity Status" that he doesn't need to stoke his own ego by breaking his report first. Drew has earned the respect and love we have for him and his site and probably agrees that this is the right route to take.

Any statement will be in the form of a press release, which I will also recieve. As of this moment, I have not heard any indicaton that such a press release or update is imminent.

Can we please give the BT topic a rest.

Cheers,
Andrew.

Let that "core" meltdown first with the release, then fill in the "details" from here.......that should squash the holistic, mantra chanting leather-freaks for sure......

Good points - maybe it's best for those over there that don't get it to be informed first. I don't think Andrew needs his ego stroked though. I just appreciate that he makes an effort to bring Journey news to Journey fans and that's why I've moved over to this forum. It just seems to me that this has become the official unfiltered site for Journey

Either way, they're getting ready for it over there. There is even some sad bleeding heart "open letter" goodbye to Augeri over there right now. Its kinda sad.

He wanted to make a statement, honest!
But when he called up management to give them his statement, the batteries in his TapePlayer went dead and all management heard on the other end was dead silence :D

That's what's taking so long now; Augeri ran down to the corner to get some fresh batteries for his TapePlayer so he can give a statement!

Actually I lay it all on him for not coming to that forum for two minutes to say "thank you for the support" or something. It's not as if he had to answer questions or even return to read responses, just say thank you. Andrew said he wasn't banned from BT or any other forum, he obviously just chose to ignore it.

It's sad to see this apathy, especially after all the good things that had been said about his personality before this year. Besides the tapes, he lost a lot of my respect just by ignoring his biggest fans. He probably threw all their cards in the trash. Here I thought the rest of the band was callous.

Gee...
and people wonder why some of us are so hard on the guy???
You said it all.
I love what he did in the studio, never liked him LIVE, totally believe he ws lipping but still had some respect for him.
Since he has gone into hiding and hasn't even attempted to say anything to his followers or explain himself, I have lost ALL respect for him and couldn't care less how many feelings I hurt bashing his sorry ass!
i could care less if he ever sings again.
He is old news, or in BT-lingo,
"He is SO Prescious Time" :D

If I was Augeri, I know that I would probably be EXTREMELY embarrassed that I had been caught lip-sync'g. He's probably read comments here and elsewhere since he obviously knew his way around the 'Net. He may have felt that anything he could say would seem very hollow.

That topic got closed which really surprises me because: 1) the announcement is anticipated by all soon 2) It seemed pretty tame and honest (although naive and sentimental).

For awhile there, it seemed like they were lightening up some. Makes me wonder the real reason Journey called that EP "Red" 13. Seems to have some Stalinistic under tones, the way the band endorses censorship. Its a little embarrassing. Hopefully JSS will convince them to pull that stick out.

I think the band announcement will go hand in hand with a statement from Augeri, which will basically consist of, "Thank you for 8 great years."
