Drew, when the time comes to pass that Management finally releases an
Official Statement and you have been given the ok to post your story,
could you please include, in a very tactful manner that would not
demoralize anyone, the reasons behind the big delay?
It should be obvious that most of the arguements have
progressed from "When are we gonna get Official word" to
"Why the delay in releasing the Official word".
I think a brief explaination would help simmer down a lot
of the arguements.

I'd love to be shocked. In a good way, of course.

Frankly I'm tired of waiting. There are plenty of great bands out there without the 'drama.'

Doubt it Carol. Some people will probably be shocked or totally disbelieving, but I don't think we will be. Andrew said it was only one person and Dean said also a spouse, so that pretty much tells the story.

My **luck** the press release from JRNY on Friday, then Andrews interviews released on Monday... and I will miss out on all the **bitching, moaning, griping AND the meltdown over at BT... My luck is--- I will be in CABO next week..
sunnin, golfin, and a visit to cabo wabo...

All depends what the statement says. Basically the hold up is the lack of statement/clarification/update from the band, which is pending certain issues being dealt with.

Come on, that was a cheap shot and FAR from accurrate.
Andrew is the one that suggested to the band or management that he should hold
off his story until they have an Official Statement ready for release.
Apparnetly Andrew knows that his story will be more appreciated and accepted
if it's release coincides with the Band's Official Statement...
Why would he want to "bite the hand that feeds"???

Seriously - let me state this one more time for those that can't quite comprehend what is really a simple concept.

Ok -

My feature is focussed and dominated by talk of the band's future plans - both my thoughts and opinions and 4 interviews with the band which talk of the same.

So - when that future has not yet been clarified officially by the band themselves, then is it not a gesture of decency on my part that I suggest to management that I hold off on printing my feature until these issues have been clarified???

When I suggested this it was 3 weeks ago and a statement was expected ANY DAY. We are still waiting and I am left feeling frustrated now that my feature is also held up.

But - I owe it to ALL concerned that a statement can be issued by the band FIRST.

You're an ethical man Andrew. I guess some of the things that have happened in the world of Journey make that an anomaly, but some of us still recognize it.

You're doing the right thing Andrew.......99% of us know that, and we can all wait.

I agree with the quoted post, though. I have nothing but respect for Andrew - You are a stand up guy.

However, I lost the passion for this Journey about 2 weeks ago.

I wish them the best, and little ol me isn't going to make a difference one way or the other. But, as much as I was excited for Jeff being with Journey, this is ridiculous.

This is just my opinion, wich amounts for squat. The band will go on, or not, regardless of my opinion - as will everyone here. I am just voicing here, not trying to say things should be done differently.

I like most everyone here, but I am close to saying "forget new Journey, forget these boards, and let me live in my glorious past of 78 - 81".

Exactly. If only Journey were as 'stand up' as Andrew.

Many thnaks, but I must say for the record that it is not the members of Journey holding this up.
I'm sure they are keen to get on with things as the rest of us.

I'm sure an update will come soon. It better!

Knox this isn't the band's fault. How many times & how many ways does Andrew have to say that? Andrew can't come out & say exactly what's going on, but read between the lines of what he has said. This is obviously being held up by legal issues. I bet the current Journey lineup (the one that has been on tour since July 7) is ITCHING to get on w/this & announce their exciting news for the future. Don't give up on them. If they could announce it to u, I believe they would. But until a former member of the band signs a legal document, they just can't do it. Isn't this obvious by now?

Everyone please keep the faith. Once the settlement is finalized & the documents are signed, things will really get exciting.

FWIW, I think that's an incredibly generous thing for u to do. It shows that u really have integrity & are a very sincere & respectful Journey fan. Most journalists in ur shoes would do the complete opposite. Bravo.
