Deen is absolutely brilliant. 8)
Not only he is one of my all time fave drummers (since I first heard him with Bad English),but now he has become one of my fave singers as well. And there are just a few that I truly love.

My jaw dropped when I saw/heard him with 'Faithfully' live and it wasn't necessarilly because of the Perry-ish voice timbre...
Deen is more than that.

I knew he was one of a kind the day I heard him sing Mother Father. That's THE ultimate voice test...and he passed with flying colors! :)

Thanks for the link,M!

Watching Deen drum his ass off while singing Mother Father is great stuff. By the way, he's superb on "Faithfully" and "Who's Crying Now" as well. The guy can simply flat out sing!

Even if you pause it and let it load before it plays?

Yeah, sometimes it is able to load faster than it plays, sometimes not. Just pause, wait a bit, then play it.

Hear that, Moonie? Good advice for you, too.

could this be a "genesis" moment, where the drummer becomes the lead singer? he is damn good. and all the talk is about s.a and jss, what
a good smoke screen!

Probably wont happen ohsoto because I read somewhere in an interview of his that while he is a decent singer that I think he prefers to hang behind the drums rather than being a "Frontman" which I can perfectly understand. I'd love to hear more of his singing becuase he really does have a great voice to him.

Yip; Deen certainly can sing.

I expected Augeri to do all the lead vocals when I saw Journey in Edinburgh in June, but Deen did 4 songs.
Mother, Father; Where Were You; Just the Same Way and Still They Ride. He was bloody awesome, managing to play drums whilst still cracking out the song.

Why doesn't he sing lead then? He's not bad.

Deen has said he likes to be behind the drums than being a frontman. :D
