will they go it alone, or with another act again?
I'd love to see a longer set, & I know Jeff could go for a couple hours...oops that doesn't sound right does it

lol...SING for a couple hours, lol.

i would like to see another double bill with a great act, but where journey closes the show with a 2 hour set and large stage... they played to 10-15k folks a night on this one with an album that hit 200 with a anchor on billboard, not bad...

I would love to see them play alone, but don't know if that will happen....I like what Larry said, tho, a 2 hour set would be great

I really don't care to pay to see anyone but Journey. Now if they could get Styx with DDY on tour with them that would be different.

They can't tour alone unless they do tiny venues. They're gonna need a decent opening act to get 6-9 thousand people per show. This scenario is NOW. If, in 2007, they create a bit of a stir with a new album and get some radio play, those numbers could spike. Management has to a 180. THAT is indisputable. They've been downright terrible for several years and the pending "announcement" is a reminder of just how bad they've been. I say new singer, new attitude, new direction and most of all, NEW MANAGEMENT. I can't think of one thing they've done right in the last 8 years other than pad the band's pockets at our expense. Management DID figure out one thing....Journey has very faithful fans. And for that, we were thanked with smoke and mirrors. Thanks, Irving.

They've got the new singer St John. And the potential for a great new album. Now if management will get behind them they can do it.

Would like to see a double bill or even a three acts..like the Arrival Tour.
A 25 min opening act 50 min second act and put Journey on Stage by 9pm so we can a two hour set or go with 2 acts and get them on stage by 8:30 so we can get 2 1/2 hours. Bring in another 80's band too open say Damn Yankees. They could pull off there show in 1 hour.. Just a dream I dont even think DY are getting back together.

If Journey tours on their own next year I might actually FINALLY get to see them.
I finally moved away from Michigan and the awful DTE Music Theater, and then they tour with Def Lep who I like, but don't care to pay $90 to see them just do the hits. But if it's just Journey w/JSS doing a full 2+ hour show, I'm there.

Remember this....this is the same management that made Steve Augeri a full corporate member (what a joke), the same management that let Journey go 5 years between albums (Arrival to Generations), the same management that didn't recognize Steve Augeri was "toast" a long time ago, the same management that allowed "tapegate", the same management that let "tapegate" snowball....further dividing fans, and the same management that is completely responsible for this terrible transition as it relates to Soto replacing Augeri. Now, with momentum, they're not going to be in the U.S. until 2008, when in all likelihood, their momentum will be all but gone. Cancel Europe, pay Talisman a severence for stealing Jeff and get to work early in 07 writing and recording. Spend 4-6 months in the studio and tour in the Fall of 07. This band cannot wait til 2008 to hit the road again. They're losing fans annually. Def Leppard brought the crowds this year. By most accounts, the majority of the shows were 75% DL. Journey will HAVE TO have a commercially successful album to have any turnout if they wait to 08. Unless of course they bring back Perry.

I'm hoping they go it alone. Put out that new album with JSS, get management to promote it, and then start touring.
I can't tell you how many late night talk shows Def Lepp was on, 3 or 4? This was all right before they started tourng, I think that would help a bit.

I did not say he wasn't brilliant and talented, I said don't tour with him next time; been there done that and time for a new act since they are ditching Def Leppard too. You are way too defensive!

I saw them play in front of 12k alone in Saratoga in 05......and 8k alone in Buffalo in 05

Very true, DL were on quite a few, & even on Ellen! lol
I do hope they don't wait until 2008 to tour again, but that's for my own selfish reasons, lol

Actually I fergot about Ellen. LOL!
Journey needs to get there name out there... I can bet there were quite a few people who caught Lepp and said "wow.. they are still around and touring?"
I guess we are in the same "selfish" boat. I feel the same way.

The whole band doesn't need to go on t.v., if Jeff would go on and sing with just the reg. stage band-like Conan's. He would draw attention to himself and people will ask..."where do I get more of that?" everyone wins. Its an idea.

That's what I meant by management getting behind them. I don't think just touring is really going to change things much unless they get some new music out there that gets some public exposure of some type(tv, movie, radio, something to get it heard). I think they need to focus on doing that even if it means waiting until 2008 and then coming out with a highly publicized new tour with a focus on the new frontman.

PR can never hurt, but what they need mostly is a good single to get everything rolling. People today don't care about packaging, especially younger people. They don't know what the people on their ipod look like, they just want to download and listen! in the 60's it was all about the singles, that's where music is again right now. imo.

Yep. I don't care about packaging. I RARELY buy actual CDs anymore, just blank ones.

I like that idea Yolog. I don't know how something like that would be accomplished these days, but it would sure help avoid any "It can't be Journey without Perry" type stigma.

Yep, I'm sure there were people going "wow they're still around?" lol. Funny about Journey though, can't tell you how many people were shocked they are still around too. One of my relatives at Thanksgiving comes up to me & was all excited that I had seen Journey, she had seen them in the 80's, & she wanted to know how Steve Perry looked now on stage! I almost spit out the sip of wine I had just taken, lol. I told her he still looks great, but I didn't see him live, then she was all shocked about Augeri, had never heard of him, etc., lol. Told her about Jeff, etc. She's all caught up now! lol

Honestly, I think it's best if these people never even find out about the Augeri-years. Let them rediscover Journey w/Jeff & go "wow".
