Out of curiosity

Does anyone know if the date for this announcement has been set, and who sets it? ie band, management, attorneys, group effort, etc. I ask because I would assume it has been planned if we know for sure it's soon?

I know bugger all, but Andrew did hint on Friday that it would be this week.

I don't have a clue- although I hope it's VERY soon. If nothing else, it might calm the waters here ( and other places :wink:

) a bit. I firmly believe that a lot of the tension around here is just massive frustration about not knowing what the hell is going on! It's like being stuck in traffic- no matter how patient a person is- sooner or later they get ticked off!

The only person I think that can answer your question(s) is Andrew. And I doubt he's going to give us any specifics.
( although if you want to Andrew- we won't mind- honest!

)

I had a feeling it was gonna happen yesterday for some reason but obviously it didn't.

I agree with you KCfla, I think a lot of the tension is definetely caused by that and that it probably will be a lot calmer after it. That doesn't mean the whole thing won't still come up now and again, but I think everyone will calm down and not debate it as much when it's finished.

Maybe we should all just convince ourselves it's not gonna happen til exactly 1 year after Steve left the tour, then if it happens any time before that it's a bonus :lol:

I'm just gonna repeat what you said yesterday and say maybe Santa will have e-mailed Drew when he wakes up in a few hours. Because he's been a very good boy waiting around for it.

(This is only a "for instance" here- I'm not starting any rumors!!!)

But if Andrew knew say- that he could post everything tomorrow- don't you think he'd let us know? It would sure take some of the "heat" out of here and off him!!!
Not to mention boost his readership up at least 3X the norm!!!! :!:

Hey folks, don't forget this is Journey we are talking about. I will sacrifice my left nut if the story runs this week. The band has been stringing all of us and Andrew along for weeks without any care. Even JSS has disappeared.

Maybe so. Hope he left out milk and cookies!! I believe it's 252 am in Kangarooville right now. He has been a good boy this year. Put up with a lot of crap for these fellows.

Well there was the hint on the front page on Friday, the on Sunday he said it would be "VERY soon". Now that *does* indicate he has been told something...

As for Jeff disappearing, I wouldn't read into that too much. The guy's been on tour for 4 or 5 months, he's bound to be knackered. Plus I think he was in England this week doin some gigs.

Some of us are losing interest about the interviews or what the band is going to do. I am over it. I just come here now for what everyone posts. I will not be a negative guy like some who are asked to leave, since I still love the music. But I am done being strung along like this.

It is really pathetic.

I came to realize that Journey is not a bunch of superstars - they are regular guys in a band. I am not one to put anyone on a pedistal anyway, so I see this as a bunch of average "joes" who are arguing about each other (augeri, perry, whoever) and can't get their lawyers to agree on anything.

They aren't gods, they are just musicians. I love the music, but to me they are no better or worse than the guy that lives down the street who I don't know. I wouldn't cross the street if I saw them just to get an autograph.

I hope they do great things with Soto, and I am still pulling for them, but it will take a lot to get my interest back.

And I am still (sorry Drew) doubtful about the interviews unless they don't say anything more than "soto is in, and we are excited about the future".

First of all, I absolutely adore the sayings you guys have. Knackered is another one! Yes, the hints he gave are why I ask if the announcement date has been set. It would seem he HAS to know something. As for Jeff, I agree. It is either that or the band has asked him to stay quiet for a little bit so he doesn't accidentally say something that could hold the process up or be used against them. It will be interesting to see how quick he comes back after the announcement.

I had a sinking suspision that Jeff was gonna stop posting about 3 weeks ago after a PM
I got from him...
I'm sure I'm not the only one here he reached out to (I'm not claiming to be bvetter than anyone else).
Just the tone and some of the things he said...
I think he knows himself that now is a good time to step back from the fans
and let all the legal stuff work itself out.
But I have faith that he'll be back again

That's another possibility. Maybe the guys have agreed to cool it where posting on the net is concerned, just til it's all sorted. Deen's mum and sister used to post on BT quite a bit as well and I don't think they've been around much either, so you might be onto something there.

Doesn't surprise me much. Knowing a little about the legal side of these things, this is a very tense time for all involved. I don't want to get flamed for saying this, but either Augeri or his attorneys or both were obviously not the sissies some made them out to be. This all has lead me to believe he is somewhat leading the band around by the short and curlies right now. Anything and everything said by these guys anywhere could be used against them. I would imagine that is why Andrew is being very cautious as well. I would never even ask Andrew something that could get him in a bind, and he is obviously intelligent and respectful enough not to do it anyway. I just enjoy this type of conversation more than anything. By the way, anyone who thinks Augeri and these guys are still buds, needs to think again. This is like a very bad divorce, maybe worse.

I think maybe they were still on good terms when he went to that gig in September. Maybe at that stage he still thought he would get to come back. Who knows. But I don't think they'll be on good terms now.

And btw, the word "sissies" made me laugh. Made me think of silly wee boys crying because their mummy gave them a row :lol:

I agree. At that time the boxing match may not have begun. When he found out he was being/had been replaced, he probably said 'oh hell no!!'.
