After you mentioned Alter Bridge the other day I picked up "One Day Remains". I remember hearing "Open Your Eyes" a while ago & thought it was good but just never got the cd, my mistake because I love it so far! Haven't had a chance to listen to the whole thing yet, but the title track is WOW!!! Think I might have blown the speakers in my car on that one lol.

I actually did skip a little after track 2 & listen to little clips, In Loving Memory I'm afraid to listen to all the way, sounds like what my dad would want to say to my mom, I'll probably cry, yep I'm a big BABY.

Great cd the title track punches you right in the teeth !!!!
Tremontii is a great guitar player, and Phillips pounds away on the drums. I read on their website that Tremontii said this band was doing it for the music and the music they always wanted too play and kindaa got away from after the first Creed album, they became too commerical ( sound familiar) Stapp wanted too take control of all the music ( this is getting scary). Stapp forced out Brian Marshall the bass player ( good thing they didn't get randy Jackson). tremontii basically said we made a shit load of $$$ as creed so we can do what we want with this band !.
The only trouble I have with AB is Myles Kennedy doesnt sound that good at times in concert. he gets a bit rough at times. The vocals on the cd are great !!! Check out some clips of AB on you tube .com and see waht you think. The guitar and drum work is worth the listen alone. They are animals live and I reallyenjoy the CD.

Favorite line of the Whole CD track 4 " I drank so much last night I nearly drowned" !!

When I saw Ab in Orlando in 2004 they did an acoustic version of In Loving Memorey. and it was great !!!

They say they are working on their follow up cd and it should be out in 2007

It was the B side of the single 'Open your eyes'. Not sure if it appeared on any version of the album, i err 'downloaded it'

It was also in the sound track of the film Elecktra. IMHO Its as good if not better than anything else on the album.

First off I’m glad that there are people interested in this band. I have mentioned them a few times here also as their name has come up. I’ve been a Creed fan since 1999 and have been an Alter Bridge fan since I heard “Open Your Eyes” months before One Day Remains dropped. I just want add few things to a certain part of Zino’s post.

The ultimate reason why they broke up was because of personality issues. Stapp was going through dark times and the fact that fame had inflated his ego didn’t help matters. His band members didn’t help him or even try for that matter so the alienation caused a strain in their relationships. HaHa, that list is actually pretty old I need to update it. The reason they are so far back is because their music doesn’t speak to me as much lyrically as the previous ones do but musically hell they'd be number #1.

All this is very true. I was making an attempt at some humor Didn't some fans even try and sue Creed over a concert or something where Stapp was in pretty bad shape with the pain killers. If you google Creed im sure you can find the story. Stapps cd was prety good I thought but it kindda faded away.

Anyway I have a live boot of a show of the first leg of the tour they did in 2004 they play almost the whole cd plus a Led Zep cover I believe. Any body interested ? PM me

Too bad you missed out on this Cd they played their 2nd concert their in 2004 at the HOB with Submersed! They are from the Orlando area I believe. They had alot of freiends and family their. They also did a New Years Eve show in 2004 at the HOB

Yep, that sucks, I'm only about 30 mins from HOB. Been to many a concert there, but missed out on AB.

Wow! Thanks much for the downloads, ClassicRock!! I had the CD, but I like live performances better....even if they are not "technically" perfect. Studio recordings are too "worked" looking for "perfection". I like thing's that are live and real....warts and all. Then you really can tell who has talent to play and sing....not just made up that way in a studio with enhancements. I really dig the acoustic versions the most. Stripped down to just raw voice and guitar.......don't want so - called "perfection"....just a real honest, imperfect, sometimes, sound! Thats the best! imo

That happened at the end of the Weathered tour in Chicago, I'm pretty sure it was their very last show. Actually what Stapp did at that concert was not cool at all. He drank a half bottle of Jack Daniels before they took the stage and screwed up the words in the songs. He walked off stage five songs into the set. Tremonti went backstage to retrieve him and found him lying on a couch with his eyes closed. Tremonti said: “What the hell are you doing?” and Stapp said: “Oh, I’m sorry dude. I thought the show was over.” Yea fans did try to sue, and rightfully so, but a judge dismissed the case. I believe that was the last straw for the rest of the band. There are a lot of things Stapp did wrong in Creed and even before and right after his solo album The Great Divide was released but he is still a good guy that’s why I wanted to make sure the story was set straight.

Yeah he got married down here in Miami and then had some trouble while getting on the plane after a few too many cocktails I believe.

I found it cool That AB said they wouldn't be doing any Creed songs at Their concerts they stuck too their music and a couple of covers.

I believe Stapp did include Creed songs in his shows but I never did see him, did you get a chance???

The two groups AB & Stapp then began a lot of mud slinging back and forth which sucks because their music was great. but I guess thats the music business. Friends can become enemies. They went through alot together in the begining as a band.

I think part of the hold up on AB new cd is due too no label they broke away from WindUp. They did play a few new songs at some shows in Europe over the summer.

Scott Stapp did indeed play Creed songs and I’m glad he chose to do that. I believe that he or Tremonti have a right to play any song that they helped write regardless of the situation or circumstance. It is just like Steve Perry, when he toured solo he played Journey songs. Alter Bridge took a different approach and good for them, it is their choice. I got to see Stapp twice, once while touring solo and once while opening up for INXS (solid enjoyable band by the way). I loved hearing the Creed tunes in the mix with his new stuff. I’ve seen Alter Bridge twice also and with them I enjoy the Zeppelin covers.

It is mostly Tremonti that is still harboring ill feelings, understandably, he was recently quoted saying: “ I haven’t listened to a Creed song in years. I can’t stand it. When people from the era get together, its like a convention of people who went through Nam.” Stapp said that he still thinks Tremonti is the best guitar player in the world and he still thinks he is a genius. It is sad what the music business can do such great musicians.

Yes you are correct. Wind-Up, which is currently Stapp’s label, was dragging their feet with Alter Bridge because they believed that Stapp was the man to focus on. They are now dragging their feet with Scott Stapp but not nearly as much as they did with Alter Bridge. The new cd is going to kick ass I know it. I have those new songs they played but the quality is poor but you can hear the music relatively well but the lyrics are what get drowned out.

Do you remember what Stapps set list was like , what Creed songs did he do ??
Do you know what Stapp is up too now ? I thought his CD would of taken off, people seemed to know who he was and Creed had huge success. Im sure he and the label thought he would have had more success with the CD. While AB seemed to know where they stood and would have to build a solid fan base..which it seems too me that they really have some followers out there. They put on one hell of a live show Tremonti just brings it every song.

Good to chat with you about this band hopefully the word will get out too even more fans for the second CD. Gonna go crank up some AB for the ride home from work .

Great thread, got both the AB and Stapp releases and they're both ace. Really pissed that I missed ABs UK show.

If we're pushing new bands I got a suggestion, (but only if you like your music with tongue firmly in cheek).

Check out Wig Wam... a European glam rock band (remember glam rock). They were No.1 in Norway for 19 weeks last year..sorta like Bon jovi/Poison with Eddie's twiddly guitar thing going on... very catchy and commercial songs. Latest album is the better of the 2 - WigWamania.

Saw them in their first UK show a couple of months back and can honestly say it was the best non-Journey show I've seen in 25 years.
