Actually, I found it quite entertaining as well. Dee Snider has always put on a great show. I just think it's kind of sad that Dee Snider and his wig can get onto Leno singing a Christmas carol, yet Journey can't seem to figure out how to get into the mainstream media to promote ANYTHING!

Great point! Guess because their not a "novelty" act, but skilled musicians.

No argument from me that Ojeda can't carry Schon's jock! I also think your assessment of Journey being mismanaged is quite accurate. I, for one, LOVED Twisted Sister's "Love is For Suckers" cd that came out in the late 80's...some great rock tracks on there. I actually think Dee had some talent back in the day. Ever listen to "The Price"? Great tune! That said, this is 2006, and Twisted Sister being on Leno singing a Christmas carol was just flat out funny.

I'm not an expert on Twisted Sister, but, to my knowledge, they haven't even really been together as a band all that much, over the past 15 years. Isn't Dee Snider a radio DJ in Connecticiut or somewhere? Maybe he can have Neal and Jeff on his show and give them some tips on getting on the late night shows...even if it means singing "Rudolph The Red Nosed Reindeer"

Dee Snider said that the first words in the melody line of "We're Not Gonna Take It" were modeled after that song.

No, I'm not kidding:

"We're not gonna take it..."

"Oh Come, All Ye Faithful..."

Sing it for yourselves.

Actually Nora...there is no question that Twisted Sister was singing this song very much to the melody of "We're Not Gonna Take It". In fact, my original thought when they first started playing was "what the hell are they recycling this for", and then they bust into "Oh come let us adore him, Christ the lord". Some of the more bizarre footage I've seen on tv, but again, entertaining as hell! I knew I bought TiVo for a reason! Dee Snider is a scary looking dude in High Def on a 65 inch screen

Yep...I Tivo'ed Howard on Letterman as well! I NEVER miss Howard, period! I'm still pissed his E! show went off the air. I have DirecTV, so don't have any access to his "Howard TV" that he's always promoting. I guess it's only available on cable. I might have to switch over to cable, just to amuse myself!

Twisted Sister- God I could tell you stories......
Anywho- They are a very good band live. As for their "fashion sense"- it was actually Dee's wife that had the idea for them to "glam themselves up". She thought that it would separate them from the hundreds of other bar bands trying to get ahead back in the late 70's ( this I know because she used to make their stage clothes back in the day! HE TOLD ME!)
