Ok nothing new on the Journey front. I'm discovering all sorts of "new to me" goodies in Jeff's back catalogue. I really wish everyone would do the same. They would understand that a wonderful talent this man really is. He can REALLY write great tunes & there is something in there for everyone. So, for those who have checked things out, what are ur favorites? Here are some of mine (sorry there's a LOT of stuff to listen to):

Talisman:
Mysterious - what an awesome song! This stands up against any rock song IMHO. On my Top 10 of all time.
Skin on Skin - Another killer song that is as good as any Journey song.
Doin' Time Wit' My Baby - Can u hear the Sam Cooke in this? Wow.
I'll Be Waiting - just so beautiful.
Nobody Said It Was Easy - What a beauty.
In Make Believe - Amazing lyrics, a beautiful & rockin' song.
Since You've Gone - I just love this song.
To Know Someone Deeply Is To Know Someone Softly - Sticks in ur head. Beautiful.
On My Way - very Journeyesque.
Just Between Us - Really pretty.
My Best Friend's Girl - really catchy number.

Break Your Chains - Get up & go song.

Eyes:
Walkin' Fire - great rocker, very catchy.
Nobody Said It Was Easy - what a beauty

LA Rocks:
Love Stops - I get kinda lost in this song. Beautiful.

Solo:
Eyes of Love - Beautiful song
Holdin' On - Love Jeff's voice on this one.
If This Is The End - Very catchy, sticks in the mind

Ku De Ta:
2012 - I can't get this song out of my head. I love it.
You'll Always Touch Me - Simply a classic.

Human Clay:
Don't Look Back - what a great song!
Vows In Stone - excellent stuff that lingers.

Various other covers:
Send Her My Love - I love Jeff's arrangement of this song. Simply exquisite.
Crazy - Holy cow. Jeff smokes Seal here & makes Seal sound mediocre.
Frozen - what a neat interpretation of a Madonna song. I love it!
Ice Cream Man - Jeff sings the blues & does it well.

Yep, he has a TON of awesome stuff to listen to.

His versions of Send Her My Love & Crazy are 2 of my favs, love his version of Crazy better than Seal's and...you'll throw something at me for this, lol...his version of SHML a teensy bit more than the original

(ducking)

I've picked up quite a bit of Jeff's stuff with Talisman, solo, and with Axel Rudi Pell since he joined the band. Good stuff, for the most part.

All great songs their Susie...
May I add

" On the run again" - YJM Rising Force
"2 be found again" - Humanimal
"Cheyenne" - Eyes
"I Need Somebody" 'hidden' bonus acapella from Eyes s/t cd
"Long way to go" Talisman

As Ive told Susie before, I think Jeff voice sounds as its best when Marcel Jacob is involved in writing the songs. He knows exactly what to write for Jeff's voice!

Ooooh I almsot forgot, " HELL IN PARADISE' - TALISMAN

I won't throw something at ya Melissa. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I love the original SHML & nothing beats Perry's voice IMHO, but I really really like the way Jeff arranged it. It made it more current, updated for today. The way it starts with that percussion-y sound really brings it into today's music standards, nicely. It's a little more moody the way Jeff sings it, know what I mean? Yet, he preserved enough of the original to keep it classic. Really a stellar job overall.

I just wish all SA & SP fans would check out Jeff's music. They really need to hear what he's all about. Especially the ones who accuse him of doing nothing other than screaming & shouting. They have no idea what he's capable of. & I am certain they would find songs that they would love if they did some digging.

I know, just kidding, lol.

Yep that version is definately more moody, I think that's why I like it more.

I made a 3 CD collection of my favorite JSS tunes, spanning from Yngwie Malmsteen to the latest Talisman release. Some great stuff throughout the years. You'd think with 3 CDs that I'd have been able to get all of my JSS faves, but to be honest, I could probably have filled at least one more and possibly another.

Oh I need to add one more. From Essential Ballads "This Ain't The Love". To me, that is like something The Eagles would have made. & I'm a HUGE Eagles fan.

It's funny how Jeff's songs pay homage to all of my favorite artists. "Sacred Eyes" could be a Styx song (& then he throws in "Babe I love u" on "As I Do 2 U"). "Lonely Shade of Blue" could be a Kinks song. Jeff's is like today's version of everyone I loved 20 yrs ago all rolled into one. Ha ha.

Talisman (World's best kept secret) - ordered and on the way

LOL, I didn't have anything of Jeff's 6 months ago. The cd I listen to the most is probably Lost in Translation - great rockin songs back to back.

Fav songs (off the top of my head without looking at the cds) are probably "How Long", "Eyes of Love", "Believe in Me", If This is the End" and "Find our Way".

Have to say though he is much more fun to watch then just listen to (no offense at all)......but there is an energy you just don't get on a CD. :)
