From Andrew's front page:

"A major tour is planned for the USA 2008 to support a new studio album." (emphasis mine)

I like the sound of that! :)

If it's anything like Jeff's past work, combined w/Neal & Jon's talents, & Jeff's vocals, it won't take long at all.

You are so right lady. Jeff has a HUGE amount of great work. Song after song. Love most of it.

I know this is corny.. Shoot me for saying this, but I'd like to see Journey reach out to a pop diva for a duet with Jeff..Something to try and get on radio

It is really hard NOT to be a Jeff fan after u go thru his past work. There is something in there for everyone.

Many of us have mentioned as much. It's not corny, it's good business sense. Something they haven't practiced in quite a long time.

Based on what I've heard on my Soul SirkUS CD, that shouldn't take too long. If - as Andrew states - Azoff Management IS really behind the band, then maybe the band will get where they deserve to be. New music is a key and will hopefully be a large part of their future.

Schon sounds like he wants it sooner, rather than later

Totally agree Fred. Totally.

Yeah, sometime in early to middle 2007 at the latest for the CD would be great! But I realize they can't put out anything too early prior to a tour, but I'm glad the guys sound DEFINITIVE about things, more so than in the recent past. I was really concerned that it was going to be "business as usual" with some "maybes" built in, but that doesn't seem to be the case. :)

I love that about Schonny, his tireless work ethic, but dude, you need to be missed for some time. I believe you will see some US dates in addition to the special events planned.

Last year at this time I was in agreement about going away for a bit, but I'd hate to lose the momentum they have...AND....I'd hate for them to miss out any any of the "anything 80's is cool" vibe that is happening now.

The only thing with the annoucement for the new CD is that it only says that there will be a tour of the US in 2008 to accompany it.

Surely the tour to promote the new album will extend out of US borders??
It only makes sense to make a proper go at promoting the new album when it arrives.

By that I mean; touring the UK and Europe for the 3rd year in a row, going to Japan and maybe even going to Andrew's country of residence, Australia.

Rock style is coming back around to more like the 70s and 80s when Journey were at their best.
If they come in with a blazing album and promote the hell out of it around the globe; they could well become a well known name in the UK etc as well as the US, where they've always been successful.
That could only be good for the future of the band.

Maybe, but not when it comes to a phenomenal new CD release, like they have the potential of creating. They need something BIG to put the past thoroughly behind them.

I was really glad to read that Neal is planning on writing some really catchy, hooky, material.

Hopefully with a hard rock edge!
