OT- Who's going to see Rocky Balboa?

Postby YoungJRNYfan » Thu Dec 21, 2006 1:38 am

Ey Yo it's Rocky again you know. I can't believe this actualy happend. I never ever thought I'd get to see Rocky on the big screen, ever. Is anyone else going to see this movie? Even if you aren't a fan (and who isn't?) that you know it came to mind about going out to see it?

I'm just happy Adrian's dead. Fuckin bitch was a fork in his back all along.

The original Rocky movie from 1976 was probably one of my favorite all-time movies. That said, am I the only one who think it's a bit undignified for Stallone to still be making Rocky movies in his sixties?

Can't wait to see it.
But I'll have to be patient until January...Rocky has to travel near Ivan Drago's country if he wants me to see him.

Hey...speak for yourself. I'm a scant 36...or to put it another way, 5 years older than Stallone was when he did the original Rocky :) I probably will see the movie, because I'm still a fan. I just think most of the Rocky movies got progressively worse (with the lone exception of Rocky III), after the original. Perhaps, it is going to take an old dude to breathe some life back into the Rocky franchise!

It's a Philly thing, NealIsGod.

You wouldn't get it.

You'd prolly come back here and poke fun at "all those philly lowlifes who booed Santa Claus and think Rocky's real."

BTW, I'm guilty as charged on BOTH counts :D

Hey 13...Didn't they throw snowballs at Santa and boo the Easter bunny? As a hardcore east coast guy, I'm amused by the brashness of Philadelphia's fandom! I'd be amused if that happened in my city!

Never heard the Easter Bunny one, but Santa got booed in the '60s because he was inebriated.
Still very much fair game, though, for the press to bring up in the "another black eye for Philly" context.

Have any of you heard about the script for this movie??

I read where Pauley has lost his mind. He steals thousands of George Foreman grills. Then he takes them back and gets the cash. George is losing tons of money. Pauley Finally gets caught. Later, George confronts him at the courthouse. Some pushing takes place, and this leads to Pauley having a fatal stroke or heart attack.

Anyhow, this is what leads up to Rockey getting in the ring to fight Foreman.

It sounds stupid, but dumber scripts have succeeded. You can read all about it at www.newbalboa.org or www.entertainmentusamovies.com.

Hey Red, did you ever hear about Bill Burr's (comedian) show up there a couple months ago and him getting booed in Philly? Go to YouTube and type in Bill Burr and Philadelphia. It's fucking hysterical.
