Maybe Andrew, Cyndy and Lora should move to Greenland

I am sorry, I saw this and laughed out loud, then became enraged and now have finally seen the true ass Monker is. No, this is not personal abuse. You will know when that happens. This is a factual, written statement from Monker himself, and I post this here so the three people in question will now know what they are perceived as by some asshole and I'm sure a few others. Sad really.
He wrote this stupid shit:
You know, honestly, Andrew used to be at the top of his game when it came to interviewing Journey. He's now too close to get dirty. It's like Lora and Cyndy "interviewing" Perry...It's all hero worship and light hearted conversation.
These three people are some of the brightest, sincere and frankly nicest people I have ever met, period. There isn't a favour I wouldn't do for any of them should they ask. Monker, you should just run into a knife or something. Take the others with you.
Andrew isn't at the top of his game? What the fuck? Did you not see his project? That was some serious journalistic quality. Dude is honest. I guess because he is friends with Jeff, met me and talks to me, Tapegate WAS true, he is now too close? Whatever; stay close Andrew. Flush Monker down the toilet.
Cyndy and Lora are professionals at what they do. They just don't talk to Perry everyday. They work for other artists like Melissa Etheridge and the Rolling Stones. Hell, they help to create fan Asylum? I'd say that's much more of an accomplishment than running the Journey mailing list.
Just admit Tapegate was true, and stop the hissy fit. You truly are an embarrassment.
Now go fuck yourself, and keep your sister out of it this time.

I'd expect no less from Monker.
I opened myself up for critisism in these interviews by not addressing a certain issue, but get real - if the band isn't going to talk about that to me, they sure as shit ain't going to talk about it with anyone else.
Someone of Monker's (implied) intelligence should be acutely aware of that fact.

Britt is just bent because he no longer is relevant in Journeyland.
Britt is pissed, plain and simple, because I was right, and he is as wrong as a three titted penguin.

That would be obvious...I never expected the band to talk about "tapegate" - they never will & neither will SA, so what was Monker expecting? Andrew's right, if there is another journalist interested enough in this band & they asked the questions, you'd probably get, "no comment" anyway. Nobody has to talk about anything they don't want to. And, if people need that from the band instead of just listening to all that evidence that was out there then they want to remain in denial. No hard feelings on the band from me...they are stellar musicians (just don't screw up again!)
And, all three, Andew, Lora, and Cyndy seem very nice and don't need to see that crap...they go out of their way to bring us news that they don't HAVE TO.

Can't wait for Britt to come in and reply.
Britt is probably home, concocting a new direction of attack. It's futile Britt. Seriously, Britt, wave the white towel. You're done.

no worries. i'm not offended by idiots that don't know what they're typing about. i've been doing what i do for many years & have developed a thick skin. despite dealing with kooky fans & demanding artists daily, browsing fan forums & listening to music still brings me a lot of joy. i don't sense much joy in monker. very sad. maybe we should start a prayer thread for him.

I'm with you Cyndy. Monkey's last comment was "take it [his opinion] for what it is worth". No need to guess what value I put on that.
I love the interviews - they are what they are - pre-show chat's with the band, easy goes style, and all done in the space of an hour or so before the show.
People need to remember that ALL interview requests for the WHOLE 2006 tour were DENIED.
So what kind of mud-raking were some folks expecting?
At any rate, it is only those disappointed with the band's decisions that have voiced any issue with the interviews. I'm amazed at the otherwise awesome feedback recieved
For fuller full length feature interviews with some questions Monker would give his 'journalistic stamp of approval to' - then we'll see what we can come up with when a new album is ready to go some time later next year.

Come on, now. I'm not unhappy with the decision. I have to say that I'm unhappy with HOW it was executed but I've ALWAYS recognized that JOURNEY is a band of CHANGE.
Honestly, I couldn't get through your interviews. I'll tell you why: because all of the HYPE that was behind them ruined it for me. You're saying now that the interviews were easy, pre-show chats BUT for WEEKS they've been HYPED as the TELL-ALL, BE-ALL about JOURNEY. I wasn't primed for easy, pre-show chats. I was primed for something with more substance. You and this board primed me for that - I've been a willing and open audience and have been let down.
I'm an OBJECTIVE person and the interviews don't live up to the hype. Ultimately, that's my opinion and it shouldn't mean a thing to you. I'm certain it won't considering. I'm in the minority and the majority has given you nothing but praise so you should hang your hat on that and sleep well.

Actually Fyre, the hype is what you make it. Andrew wasn't the one hyping up the interviews, some other posters were. If you were getting all primed for them to be the TELL-ALL because of the hype, that's your choice. Andrew said at one point they were relaxed interviews.........and that is exactly what I got. I for one, enjoyed reading them.......especially Deen's.

They totally lived up to the hype for me. There was a LOT of awesome stuff in there, things I didn't know about & that weren't reported on this board. I guess u wanted some Tapegate stuff, but Andrew told us all along that wouldn't be addressed. I really don't know where ur coming from Frye.

Andrew was absolutely hyping them.
On top of that the whole "can't release them until I get the word" implied that they were chock full of exclusive, "inside" stuff.
The carrot was dangled out there and everybody chomped at it including myself. While you feel that you got a bite or two that's fine. I'm saying that I got nothing. I actually feel a little bit the fool for trying to take the carrot.
Like I said - my opinion really doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things. You can't please everybody and I'm sure Andrew's aware of that. The majority of people appear to be thoroughly entertained and informed. That's what matters.

I really think that Andrew has been honest with us all along about the interviews. He even said that his greatest fear regarding them was that they wouldn't live up to the intense speculation that happened over the weeks leading to their posting.
He even came out and said that there wouldn't be any "bombshells" that we hadn't already heard about. However, if you look closely enough there are some "eye-opening" statements made. One example of which is the fact that Neal hadn't been happy with Journey for a few years.
There are more little nuggets in there that give you a glimpse behind the canned "politically correct" responses that you might expect.
I'm glad that the band feels that they can open up as much as they do with Andrew and I hope they continue to do so.
Hopefully an Augeri interview will eventually happen. That'll make for interesting reading for sure.

You're right Jeremy. It's in there if people are open to it.
