Firstly, THANKS Andrew for the amazing article(S!!), video and photos. But I have to ask - am I the only one who noticed that all of the chorus parts are being beefed up with pre-recorded vocals? Just seems to me that with this lineup they could pull it off without the tricks.

Half the band still sings along with those, I believe they're in there for consistency in sound, rather than to cheat on anything. Plus, many lesser bands use this to beef up and supplement their live sound, as a result in the public's changing expectations of live music these days. Journey have always been the kings of using technology live, as well as the kings of setting the standard for live performances.

Yeah, you're right. I need to realize that the days of musicians actually doing all of their own work is long gone. It's great for the general audience, but for anyone with an ear, you go - "Hey, wait a minute..."

Hey, Ted! How's it going? Long time no talk to. I remember you from the Journey Force days. :)

There's 3 or 4 things I'd like to do differently with different types of technology including projectors, some prerecorded stuff, and a few other effects. Stuff that would be easily done live with existing equipment that I own, but just take lots of prep to work into the show, and I just haven't had time. As of right now, everything you hear is 100% live. 8)
