Which is a shame. But that is life...it only takes a few to spoil it for everyone...I learned that in kindergarten. They chased off everyone else, INCLUDING STEVE AUGERI for the most part, now they are going to chase off Jeff.

YES. New website, new forum (if one at all). Close that damn place down and maybe some of the people will find other ways to occupy their time. Some of the threads are absolutely ridiculous. It probably represents less than 1% of Journey fans worldwide and by reading it you'd think Journey's next show is going to be in front of 34 people. Apparently the entire fanbase is leaving.

Honestly why should they invest money in a message board that really causes more grief than anything....bandwidth costs MONEY.
They should put up a general information site and let places like MR take the fans, and their "discussions".

I certainly wouldn't blame them for closing it down.

I have to say that those negative posts made my heart race, how could anyone have been so rude! I am ashamed that this NB person is using his/her military connection in their signature and yet using such harsh and hurtful words!

Considering how this has gone down...I almost EXPECT it to happen. BT has been for AUGERI era fans for so long that I doubt it will EVER transition into a JSS friendly forum. So, what purpose can BT possibly serve Journey NOW? It's more of a liability then it ever was.

Blah, blah, blah on that Robin NavyBlue chick (or guy)...I remember her coming back on BT and right off the bat being insulting (regarding Perry & Perry fans) with that smart ass mouth...so much for her.

JSS, don't let it stop you from posting here...be "who you are" and don't let it affect you - you obviously can hold your own and a lot of us respect your open-ness and talent. Besides, there won't be droves of people exiting from the fan base like these few think there will be...lol!

I'm sorry but I still CANNOT get over the amount of posts by one person slamming the band on their own site. Its really sickening to see that. I guess people that are in the public view all the time get hardened to critics a little more, but come on.....seriously, there is some major insanity with that nonsense.

What really blows my mind is this navyblue person has NEVER even seen Journey live w/ANY of its lead singers. I mean how can u comment on anything w/out that? Granted I never saw Perry w/Journey but I've seen a TON of boots. & I did see Perry live on FTLOSM 2 times--not the same, but still Perry as a frontman. I saw Augeri live what like 6 times I think. I saw Jeff 2 times. How can u even get into this debate if u never saw ANY of them?

I don't know. I love Perry and was happy with Augeri for some time. But the enthusiasm of those who have followed Jeff and actually seen him live have helped me to get fired up for him. I've seen some of the boots and the videos and he just kicks ass. And I love his personality and interaction with the fans.

To hear that diehard Perry fans are flocking back because of Jeff says alot to me - that he is going to breath some serious life into a great band. I like his comment on wanting to do for Journey what Sammy did for VH, which I LOVED. He took VH to the next level while still singing the classics.

Gotta give Jeff a fair shot.

That's what I'm talking about too! its like an obsession at this point with the amount of posts and the tone +++plus the stuff that is attached to the signature....its like this person has found an audience and is on some kind of sick high from it! I honestly cannot believe the mods. are letting it go on, they must have some kind of timeline that they will cut this type of stuff off. Get over yourself !!!

Jeff is wasting his time if he thinks he's going to go in and calm the waters. There are people who think Augeri was IT, as there were those who think that Perry was IT and now there are those who think JSS is IT. Who cares? Journey keeps moving on.

The reality is that navyblue thinks he/she has a good point, so what? How is that skin off anyone's nose? Wow, Jeff might not post over there. Whoopee!! A Zepplin'! Frankly, I don't think it's wise for ANY of them to post (interactively). They should simply make statements every once in a while. There's too much that can be misunderstood and confused and either people wind up agreeing with everything they say, or they don't. If they don't, then those who agree with everything they say come quickly to their defense or give 'em the ton of "attaboys" as if they just invented cold fusion. Familiarity breeds contempt. For goodness sakes, it's ridiculous to think that when one of the band members posts here, that an opinion that might differ from theirs is really welcome.

What I think is funnier than anything is the very SAME thing happened when Augeri took over as lead singer and people FLEW to his defense whenever they thought there was even a smidgen of insult from the Perry camp. It's happening now with JSS and now the Augeri fans are being treated as the Perry fans were treated.

It's all too predictable...and mundane.

I hope Jeff ALWAYS posts. That's been his MO forever & the way he handles his fans. He does it well. I hope he is NEVER driven away from that. It's one of the things that made me love him. He is a fan of Journey. He is welcome on any Journey fan board IMHO.

I can understand when there is litigation going on that someone might not feel comfortable speaking out publically, but now Augeri needs to address his fans over there. He should get his site up and running if he wants them to continue to support him. His silence is causing problems.

I am a huge Journey fan as well as a web site developer and hoster. If they wanna blow it up I'd be more than happy to do it. At least I'd have the band photos and bios updated by now
