What Did Augeri Do?

I've read comments on this board to the effect of Augeri "holding back" the announcement of JSS joining Journey and that he's been lipping to a tape for at least two years, etc. There also seems to be a rumour of Neal Schon wanting Augeri out of the band for quite awhile.
Does anyone know what's with Augeri "holding back" the announcement of JSS boarding the Journey plane and the 2 year lipping thing? I must've failed to notice where this bit of info came from and the details. Not that I am a huge Augeri fan who can't see him do any wrong - I've just not really grasped what really happened behind the curtain so to speak.
Anyone care to enlighten me with a short synopsis?

If im correct, it was basically the fact that he was a full partner in the band, and for JSS to become a full partner, and SA to lose that, a legal battle occured...

The lipping allegations were all over this board and made fascinating reading.
My take on it is that - it hasn't been denied, nor has it been admitted, but the general feeling is that it was Augeri's fault that fans were deceived. Others feel the rest of the band & management were equally at fault, but Augeri seems to be shouldering the blame.
As a full partner, I assume he asked for it to be made worth his while to take the heat, as it were. Just my opinion, you understand, but the lawyers would have dragged negotioations out a bit. They charge by the hour as I understand it.

He willingly perpetrated a fraud on the time-tested and loyal hearted Journey fans - many of whom were skeptical to give him a chance to begin with.
So a couple of fans, (a fervently devoted one, in particular), decided to fuck him right back.

According to someone inside the Journey circle Steve was not a full partner BUT had a contract which had to be carefully negotiogated.

One of Deen's relatives posted on BT that each member is an equal partner.
I heard this re-iterated from a Journey insider, as well.
Who's right, who's wrong?
If SA wasn't a full partner, his contract must've been pretty close to one.

That's what someone told me They had pretty good contracts. I think Deen is a full member because he has been with Neal for a long time.

The strength of Journey is the back catalog. I find it hard to believe that Steve and Deen are/where full partners. Why reward them for something they had nothing to do with? If they are indeed, or in Steve's case was, full partners, Journey's management is worse than I thought and its long-time members are pretty dumb as well.

You don't understand.
Steve and Deen were/are in fact FT time partners.

That never made sense to me either. Any members in Kiss after Ace & Peter left were contractual. I'm used to hired guns being tossed aside like a used condom.

If Augeri is having to take the full blame (which from most fans he is) I hope he got paid very well. This is not a one person thing. The band fall. If they were not going to give Augeri a chance to come back, after they said he would (?) he needed to be paid well.
Having said that, (yes I am a big Augeri fan, but not a wiggler), I fan looking forward to the next chapter of Journey and to see what is ahead for Augeri (and Perry too)-ERIC

Slingblade, please tell me you are NOT paying money to go to school. I read, or tried to anyway, your post three times, and cannot make sense of it. Jesus Christ, the South is like a 3rd world nation.

I think he's basically saying that he hopes SA gets compensated well because he believes Steve was shafted and that he supports SA, but isn't a "wiggler" supporter. Haha! Also, I think he's looking forward to more Journey material, Steve A material and Steve P material.

You know, in a way, it shows a lot of character for Neal and Co. to bring new guys in and give them full partnership. Shows commitment. Sucks that Fraugeri bit them in the ass over it. But it's over now, so it worked out in the end.

Seems to me Elson would have been the one with his hand on the fadder and making all the decitions on when to bring up the tape and when to open the mic for Augeri. Augeri had to still be singing along the whole time not being sure when that would be. That had to have contributed a lot also to totally wrecking his voice. I still think it was wrong on all accounts but Augeri needed to get paid well for taking the heat/abuse and letting the rest get off.

Look right now, with all the pain pills and crap I'm on, I am lucky to stand up (have to go thru all this crap again in a few weeks). I am suppose to be in bed till tomorrow. So if my sentences don't make a lot of sense right now, overlook it, they don't make a lot of sense to me right now either-ERIC

pretty good translation

As far as Steve being shafted, yes and no. Yes from the point he was to take time off, but no since he went along with the band (which means he would probably been shafted too if he didn't).-ERIC

Relax Abitaman - your post is fine.
Deano - I am new to the board, but I have been reading your posts for a long time. As an educated person and a southerner...I can't think of anybody on here more ignorant and disrespectful than you. It's really too bad people encourage your ridiculous posts on here.

First let me say, Tennessee is one of the most beautiful states in the nation. Aside from that, just who in the fuck are you to come in here, and question me? I do what I do on this Board, and that is my decision. Am I arrogant? yes, and I am both proud and embarrassed by it. What happened this past year to my favourite Band, and my participation in it, is beyond my wildest dreams.
As for education, when you speak of yourself as being educated, I am sure you are talking about finishin grade school. To me, educated means a Bachelors degree or a Masters.
We are two very different peas in this pond and I welcome the eventual head butt from you.

Deano - Bachelor's in Computer Science from the University of Tennessee.
I could really care less about your comments for the most part...we all have a right to our own opinions. But just as you like to sound off with your ignorant comments (regarding southerner's, etc.), I will certainly be there to give a rebutle when I feel it is necessary. As for yours or anybody elses opinion regarding Journey, that is your choice and your right to say how you feel. However, if someone disagrees with your take on a certain situation regarding the band, they don't deserve to be ridiculed for it.
