You promised to love me, baby...

For those of you who have bought the Greatest Hits Live album, who else absolutely loves the little intro they added to Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin'?

My question is this: is that another song that they tacked on there, or is that just something they wrote for that performance? My friend is convinced that he's heard that song somewhere, but neither of us can figure out where. Any help?

I love that track too and the intro does sound familiar in some way. I don't know why though.

There's a great intro to that song on the bootleg of the ROR Ohio concert too but it's just a slow and sultry rendition of the opening lines to the song except for the B-b-b-b-baby part.

I never heard it before the GHL cd but I always thought it was a cool lead in to LTS.

:P love that part! There is another concert where Perry goes into a little more detail about the song.....I think it is on the Long Beach ROR version of LTS. I'll post it up.

........and hello you two.

I don't think that was taken from another song...I believe it was just SP doing a vocal intro that matched the line of the song.
Maybe it sounds familiar because LTS has that traditional blues rhythm, which is so etched in everyone's mind...I dunno,I'm guessing.
Fact is,I never heard any song with those lyrics.

This is my all time favorite song by Journey. I was thinking just the other day about this same ? as to it being a nother song or just a cool way to start LTS. I thing that it's another song.

yep, i think shania nailed it,,your friend is RIGHT, hes heard it a billion times before,, that intro is very bluesy,, just hangs on the A and neal riffs and little G, D, A thing,, that entire song is a blues song, just not a traditional blues thing,, it starts off like a I,IV,V blues tune, then they throw in the G, and on the chorus the F#,, very tasty and original ,, muddy waters really made this popular.. heres a short live version of "hoochie Cochie Man",, same type of blues in a more primitive form...

I can't seriously answer your question.

You look like Mark Rattner from Fast Times at Ridgemont High

How's Stacy? You eat her hole yet?

I dunno...Not a fan of extended jamouts....like songs pretty much the same running time as album material (given you might have upwards of a minute or more extra in a live setting), but otherwise, GHL has some kickass live Frontiers material so...

...Interesting. :P I need to see that movie. I'm kind of a young'n so that movie's before my time.

Anyway... thanks, guys... I figured it was just a blues chord progression with some fitting lyrics.

I love additional stuff in concerts. I went to one during the 2006 tour and Jon Cain did the best piano solo towards the end of LTS. It was too awesome... I wish they'd put it on an album.

It's a video game. Guitar Hero. You use that controller to "play guitar" and you press the coresponding colored buttons as they appear on screen.
