Poll:The Journey Fan - which one is you?

Since a rebel flu is keeping me away from all the weekend fun,I am stuck with the computer and with my imagination.

Made up some Journey Fan profiles and put them up in a Poll.
Of course, there could be more profiles than the ones I came up with, but hell,it's almost 1 a.m. here.Feel free to add some yourselves.

Anyhow, read the descriptions and vote.If you don't want to admit who you are, stay anonymous. No problem. This is all in good fun anyway.

Here they are...The Journey Fans.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Groupie Girl– She has an impressive collection of pics with the Journey members as well as all kinds of signed things.
She wears JRNY t-shirts and follows the band anywhere, anytime. The guys can count on her to spread the band's gospel.
She is always happy to give.

Groupie Boy– He is ready to spend his lifetime savings and starve his family just to make sure that he's not missing any Journey concert.
He loves to get pretty buzzed at the Journey shows and then get backstage just to yell out his happiness and call the Jrny guys by their first names.
He is the best friend of the band and the band doesn't know that yet.

The Rabid Fan– For him/her,Journey makes no mistakes,it’s only the show-biz that's fucked up.
He/she is kneeling on the Journey altar,praying for an F5 tornado to hit R&RHOF CEO’s house.Ownes a Voodoo doll,too.

Journey Noisy Nut– He/she wakes up at 7AM, opens the window and turns up Journey’s Greatest Hits to the max.
Drives to work headbanging to Escape or Frontiers.Has a Journey Winamp playlist (or iPod) at the office and does the air guitar thing when no one’s watching.
He/she will never admit it,but gets teary eyes when "Faithfully" plays.

The Whiny Fan – He/she loves to moan, bitch and criticize everything that Journey ever did since the 70s or what they do today.
Hell, this fan is already disapproving with the things that the band hasn’t even done yet.
Lost his/her virginity while “Majestic” was on,and it still is an intense short unpleasant memory.

The Average Fan– A rara avis. You can see him/her at the concerts singing along, smiling and not paying too much attentions to the details.Loves the classic Journey, wants to hear the dirty dozen, but doesn’t loose any sleep over the changes in Journey.He/she will live happily ever after.

The Legacy Freak – He/she will always say that there's no Journey without Steve Perry.
Ready to take the heat from the Groupie Boy/Girl and the Rabid Fan,the Legacy Nut proudly wears his/her 80’s mullet and sometimes sticks a pin in his/her little doll which he/she affectionately calls UnJourney.
Secretly listens to "Arrival" and loves JSS's jeans, but will never admit it.

Red Leather Fan – Females love to wiggle.Males do it too,but never admit it.
The Red Leather Fan is considered an extinct species. They flourished for 8 years, then the Tape Asteroid hit their habitat.
The survivors are still hunted down to this day.

Nice post! That's a pretty good description of the types of fans we have here. I voted the average fan as I think that most describes me. I love the music, listen to it alot but it's not the only thing I listen to. I read the boards and get a kick out of them. BUT...I actually have a life outside of Journey. Journey is a hobby and not a passion.

I'm definately a noisy nut.

I usually get a lot of complaints--- AND compliments, from the boys down the hall when I blast everything from "Of a Lifetime" to "Never Too Late" from my huge dorm room stereo at all hours of the day, and night.

Um.....oops....I guess I should have gone a little further down and actually read the definitions......  Yea, count me in as a "Journey Noisy Nut" instead of "The Rabid Fan"

Rock on,
Eric

Hope you feel better soon Shania. I guess I am somewhere between Noisy Nut (been known to blast Journey with the windows open  ) and Average Fan.

.....and Tree, try "Dead or Alive" it's a killer. Totally agree on the headphones too, that was the first question I had when I got my IPOD, can i use my Sony ear buds with it? :D

There's no telling how many people think I'm nuts. I sing it in my car like I'm in the concert.

Hey girlfriend, you gotta calm down! You about had me running for the door. I'll kiss your face or whatever, but chill out a bit. There are people on this forum that will have a ball at your expense if you come on like that.
Love ya,

Sorry Shania, but I don't see myself in any of those profiles. I'm somewhere between the Average Fan and the Legacy Freak. :)

You know what OhSherrie, I did the same. I didn't actually fit into any of the catagories, but just clicked on the one that fit me best, which was off by quite a bit. No offense to you Shania, I still want to massage your body. J/K I'm a married man. I Love my wife.

Most people in my circle have called me a groupie for a really long time. dopes. they don't even know what it means. perhaps there is a better word for my type of fan?

I dunno--i do know that.............

I love JOURNEY. period.

and I'm going to NAMM in few days so I CAN'T be brought down. woohoo!!!!

I'm the kind that gives the band the benefit out the doubt with every change.

With the albums they've created they have earned it from me.

How about the revitalized fan? Grew up listening to Journey, had Journey posters on the wall, thought the world ended when Steve Perry left, refused to listen to 'the new guy', but now has a new found passion (and lust) for all things JSS?

That is where I fit in.
