JourneyRock UK

I’d like to tell you about another Journey forum that has just opened its doors. Yes another one.

It’s called JourneyRock UK. It is attached to the http://www.JourneyRock.co.uk website, which was set up a couple of years ago in an attempt to persuade Journey to come to the UK and Europe. We can’t claim to be the sole reason why Journey now includes Europe on their tour itinery, but we certainly feel our efforts helped to convince them that there is definitely a market here for Journey music.

I must stress that JourneyRock UK is NOT a competitor of MelodicRock, The JourneyForum or BackTalk, nor has it any intentions of poaching people from there or covering the same ground. It will NOT be a battleground for arguing the toss over tapegate or kicking lumps out of each other, or comparing one singer against another. Neither will it be a lovefest for any specific member, past or present, of Journey. Everybody who has ever been associated with the band will be accorded the same level of respect.

JourneyRock UK will primarily be a means for people to talk about their plans for forthcoming Journey shows, arrangements to meet up pre- or post- show, discuss the shows themselves, talk about experiences with Journey (or other bands) etc, without fear of being attacked or put down or having to run a gauntlet of abuse and sarcastic comment.

Everybody is welcome to join, whether you want to just lurk or to contribute, but we anticipate that this forum will develop a distinctive European flavour. It is moderated from here in the UK and much of the discussion (at least for the next couple of months) will be centred around the March tour of the UK and Europe.

It is true that the moderators here are all also moderators at BT, but for those that dislike BT please don’t judge too hastily. We are first and foremost British UK Journey fans.

There are a lot of Europe based fans who read many of these forums but don’t feel inclined to post there. Maybe they’ve been frightened off, maybe they don’t feel that the usual discussions are relevant to them. We hope to attract some of these people to our forum. We also hope that all of you will pop by once in a while. JourneyRock UK is not an alternative to your forum here, but could be a helpful addition to it. It will also enable us to distribute information relevant to the forthcoming tour without you having to wade through hundreds of threads on several forums to find it.

Obviously, it seems it is the nature of any forum on the internet to attract some people who just want to cause trouble or stir up argument. I’m sure that will be true on JourneyRock UK too. However, moderation will be more stringent than on MR or TJF, as any kind of trollish behaviour is not welcome, nor any foul language, and we will take action where necessary.

If you find this too restrictive, then maybe JourneyRock UK is not the forum for you. To everyone else, welcome and please stop by.

That's a great shot isn't it. That was one of Kim Cooke's from last year. Neal looks pretty relaxed there.
