How many of you never heard of Jeff before he came into journey? The second question is: as a result of him being in Journey now how many of you bought his CD's to do "research" on him? I bought Talisman 7 and Lost in translation and they are superb!! On a side note I just ordered the Lost in translation Cd from his site friday night and I got it yesterday They made an announcement that the store would be closed for a week I guess due to the NAMM show (or vacation). I did not expect to see that CD until next week at the earliest; that place has GREAT customer service!!

I had never heard of him, I had heard of Talisman and Yngwie however. I guess the reason would be that I've never been into that Metallic Rock. JSS may change that. I have listened to a bit of Yngwie, an incredible guitarist. I wouldn't know a Talisman song if it were playing right now. I may recognize Jeff's voice though. I am looking forward to seeing what he and Journey are going to bring though.

I only knew of JSS before Journey from his work with Soul Sirkus. And since I saw him with Journey I have picked up Lost In Translation, Prism, Takara's Eternal Faith and Taste Of Heaven albums, and Talisman 7 and Cats & Dogs. I'm loving them all!

Back in the early-to-mid 80's, Ying-Yang's first 2 Rising Force albums were the soundtrack for my morning paper-route. I shuffled between those, VH's '5150', Hysteria, Marillion's 'Clutching At Straws', Wasp, Maiden's Live album and 'Somewhere in Time'...
Aaaaahhh, the good old days

Then back in Jan or Feb of '91 (Yes, I remember EXACTLY where I was) while in my dorm room at Lowry AFB, Colorado, where I attended my initial technical training, I heard a tune come on the radio called "Calling All Girls" and went NUTS cause I recognized those pipes right away!
I guess you could say that I have been following Jeff's career for a long time.

Finding out that he was teaming up with Neal for SS was incredible.
Sharing conversations with him thru emails while in Iraq in 2004 was insane.
Finally meeting him in 2005 and having him yank me up on stage with him was one of
the coolest moments in my life.
And then getting to see him again this summer in Va Beach and him arranging
for my daughter's first J-Concert to be VERY special by getting to meet her
favorite rocker, Neal Schon...
What more can I say...

i was a little head banger as a kid so yep i knew who jss was WAY before he joined journey. sadly (for me) i didn't follow his career. i'm making up for lost time now though. }=C)) it's been almost a year since i searched for jss on youtube/myspace. i love the internet! }=CD

I only knew of him from seeing him in SoulSirkUs and then a solo gig...I liked him. I only bought the SS CD a couple years ago, but i wasn't sure about it...funny, I just played it again after Sat.'s gig and I appreciate it more now. I've been watching Jeff's stuff on youtube & I do remember back then really liking one of his solo songs so I need to find that one & I liked the sample song with Yngwie (sp?) I heard on iTunes...so now I'm going over there to get it - thanks for reminding me.

I'd never heard of Jeff or heard him sing until he joined the Journey tour this summer and people started posting downloads of some of his work. I was sold on his voice. He can do it if people will give him a chance. I haven't bought any of his previous works but I plan to.

I had heard of JSS a few years before Journey. I followed a little bit of his more "metal" stuff awhile back. A few years ago, I bought one of his "Takara" CDs. I love the song "Colors Fade" off of that CD. I later bought Eyes of Love....I've had that one for a couple years. To me, before him being in Journey, I thought of Jeff as being one of the elite artists in the AOR genre. I guess that is why I feel he is the best fit for Journey at this point, because he is an elite artist and Journey is an elite band. No better choice in my opinion.

I was actually so impressed with Stand up and Shout on the movie Rockstar that I sat through the credits to find out who sang it. I didn't put two and two together until I actually saw him at the St. Louis show. DUH! I now have most of his CDs. He has said he doesn't make any money from the sale of these, that's too bad cuz he'd be rolling in it now.

he is a tremendous talent, larger than life, hard working, kind, loving and has such a gentle spirit. I am getting caught up on the immense catalog. I wish I had known sooner.

I saw JSS fronting Yngwie's band in the mid-80's. They opened for either AC/DC or Iron Maiden in Lakeland, FL.

It was Iron Maiden!! I first saw JSS with Yngwie on that tour in Maryland in '86.

So far I've bought Talisman 7, Essential Ballads, and Lost in the Translation. Yes they are superb! I also picked up Soul Sirkus (black cover) off ebay. That CD rocks!

As for Jeff's music. I'd heard about him on this site. and seen some of the videos on youtube. But since seeing him in July w/Journey, I've bought several of his albums/DVD's. And every one worth every penny. I've even turned my boss on to him!

Yup.. exactly what she said. Of course seeing him this past summer with Leppard really opened my eyes, he's an outstanding performer.

I had heard of him, heard of Talisman, and of course heard of Soul Sirkus, but had never heard him sing a note until the St. Louis show this summer. I was really impressed and I've been playing the heck out of the 10 or 12 boots that came out of this summer's tour. I bought Talisman 7 a couple of weeks ago, and it's in heavy rotation in my car. It's really one heck of a CD! I'd like to get some more of his stuff as soon as I can swing it. I've watched some of his stuff on Youtube, too. Jeff's an excellent and obviously hard-working entertainer.

Ive been a fan since 85, met him back in 90 with Marcel and folowed them through their Talisman tour and became a true fan and friend of both of them ever since.
I also have been a big JSS collector. Here's what I can think of right now that I have managed to collect for the past 20 years:
