I was listening to the radio this morning and they were saying that the Police were practicing in north of Vancouver Canada in a studio !!!

Now is it true or just rumours ?? If any one has more info pleasu let us know.

Not sure about the practicing, but this was on Sting's website:

As numerous rumors have started circulating regarding plans for a celebration of the 30th anniversary of the release of the first Police single, the following is an official statement released on behalf of the band by a spokesperson at Interscope Geffen A&M Records:

"As the 30th anniversary of the first Police single approaches, discussions have been underway as to how this will be commemorated. While we can confirm that there will indeed be something special done to mark the occasion, the depth of the band's involvement still remains undetermined."

NEW YORK - The Police will reunite to perform at this year’s Grammys ceremony, the Recording Academy announced Tuesday.

The award-winning group, which won five Grammys and turned out hits such as “Roxanne” and “Every Breath You Take,” will open the event — 23 years after breaking up amid internal conflict.

The band — singer Sting, drummer Stewart Copeland and guitarist Andy Summers — fused reggae with pop and rock, and last performed together in 2003 when they were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

Sting fanned speculation of a Police reunion and tour when he told the Television Critics Association earlier this month that he and his former bandmates were “talking about” doing something to commemorate their 30th anniversary.

After the band split in 1984, he went on to more success as a solo artist and put out dreamy singles such as “Fields of Gold” and “Desert Rose.” His latest album, a collection of 16th-century classical music called “Songs From the Labyrinth,” was released in October.

Copeland examined his life in the Police in his music documentary “Everyone Stares: The Police Inside Out,” which premiered at last year’s Sundance Film Festival.

CBS will air the 49th annual Grammy Awards ceremony live from Los Angeles on Feb. 11.

STING needs a huge pay check this year...all of his bills are due... yes tour will happen MHO....----His solo career is not going anywhere these days... oh he still sells out a few places, but not like before and his songs are rather lifeless if you ask me... The Police reunion can only help!!

STING needs a huge pay check this year...all of his bills are due... yes tour will happen MHO....----His solo career is not going anywhere these days... oh he still sells out a few places, but not like before and his songs are rather lifeless if you ask me... The Police reunion can only help!!

I hope it's true and I also hope I don't have to hear The Police as Sting's backup band.
I want to hear them rock. I don't want to hear solo versions of Roxanne and Message in a Bottle or watered down versions of their tunes. I hope they stick to the original arrangements.

For some reason, I have these visions of everything sounding like Sting's solo work. No thanks. It's good stuff, but it ain't The Police.

Not sure how lavish his lifestyle is, as far as spending goes, but I read that he is quite wealthy. Maybe not in Paul McCartney's class, but pretty damn rich. How much is enough though? I guess it depends on the person.

Here is something more funny then pathetic DDY or Steve Perry fans clinging on(I say that in jest of course). Some of the people over at the Fixx message board think that since The Fixx opened for the Police in 1983 that the Police would consider touring with them again. I'm trying in my nicest way possible

to tell them they are delusional!

Because this year marks the 30th anniversary of the Band. The band wanted to do something special for this reason. As far as this band needing to tour because they NEED the money. I think you might have him confused with a certain guitar player who currently pays 25,000 a month for alimony and child support to 3 ex-wives and soon one more..............
