Whether or not you like Steelheart, check out this live version of "I'll Never Let You Go." This dude can wail with ANYONE. This a great live performance...plain and simple.

Thanks for posting this one,SJ.
Matijevic was one of the greatest singers of the 90's,loved him to death.

I still think that "Steelheart" is one of the best albums out there.
'Everybody Loves Eileen' and 'Sheila' are absolutely awesome, especially 'Sheila'...That "conversation" between Misha's voice and the guitar was stunning!

I believe that Matijevic is truly underrated as a singer...Anyway,Eastern Europeans are very proud of him! 8)

His first name is Mike actually, & yes he has an amazing set of pipes. "Tangled in Reins" is a great album, & I believe Jeff did some backing vocals on it (I can't find mine right now to see which songs, lol). Matijevic is also the voice behind Mark Wahlberg's character in "Rock Star" (Jeff is the voice behind the first singer).

He changed his name from "Mike" to "Mili" for whatever reason...something about his ethnic background...

With a last name like that he has to be Serbian or Croatian. Similar variations exist in my neighborhood and they are all one of the aforementioned two.

Get your ears checked, dude. That's an amazing vocal. Then again, you were an ardent Augeri supporter at one time. I know this song isn't Red 13 material, but it's good in its own respect. By the way, he doesn't sing like that on every song.

Dude, no offense, it's horrible to my ears. Just a difference of opinion.
When guys get into those registers where it sounds like their nuts where chopped off, I tune out. It's the chorus part that makes me cringe.

Paul Stanley has a pretty good set of pipes on him actually. Even he grates on my nerves with singing too high sometimes though. I prefer when he sang deeper (and much sloppier) in the 70's.

Kiss are fun and blow things up. Would never call any of them great muscians though. ;) (ok maybe Bruce Kulick)

Never the "be all end all". I rip them apart constantly for things they have done. That can't change the fact that they were the first band I ever got into. Wouldn't be a Journey fan without them.

Actually we DO agree on vocal tones AR. As much as I love the range Perry has.....I prefer his more full bodied voice from Dep/Escape/Frontiers and especially ROR to the real high early stuff. I think that is why I am digging JSS so much he has the power vocally and the passion that's been missing IMO.

This is the kind of passion and showmanship I want to see fronting Journey again.

LOL...I see your point. I was just fucking with you. On other songs he shows a bit more variety in his registers. I can totally see how that song could be complete shit to some. The man is immensely talented, though.

Have to agree, Tom's voice is alot more raspy, one hell of a unique voice, some songs I liked it...some songs I didn't. LOL, on first kick glance of your post squirt I thought you were talking about Keifer (Sutherland). Although personally I think he has the sexiest "speaking" voice ever, I'll bet he isn't much of a singer.

Matajevic had and still has a great set of pipes. The dude was also almost killed onstage when an improperly secured lighting rig he was climbing fell and drove his face into the stage.

Check out the story here on the Wikipedia entry for Matajevic... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Matijevic
