A question for JSS

Hope you have time to answer this,I would appreciate it... :)

I was looking around Steve Lukather's site ( I am a huge fan of his!) and found this news from June 2006.

" Jeff Scott Soto has recently met with Steve Lukather to discuss a new studio project they will undertake in the Fall upon Jeff's return from the Talisman tour in Europe. Producer/bassist/writer Fabrizio Grossi has been appointed the ringleader of the project which is the brainstorm of Frontiers Records president, Serafino Perugino. There is a well known & respected drummer in place but not yet confirmed for this as well as discussions of guest musicians that may appear as well, the only info we have about the direction of the music is 'it will rock & it will be loaded with melody'... More details to come right here on Luke's website."

I understand this happened before you joined Journey and all,so my Q is:are the plans for this project still possible for the future?

I know that Journey is your priority right now,but still...this would be amazing. 8)

I would splooge my pants at the prospect of a Luke/JSS project. My favorite guitarist with one of my favorite singers? (No offense to Neal, but Luke will always be the man, IMO) Just thinking about how diverse Luke's musical projects have been make me think this collaboration could be one of the strongest albums to come out in recent years, and I think it would sound unlike any other JSS project to date.

I know you're busy Jeff, but man, this would be awesome.

(I wonder if Luke would be into having you do a guest spot on his new solo album that he's recording RIGHT NOW? ;))

For now, all things not Journey are on hold....as well as the Luke project, I was also in the middle of preparing my new solo album, a complete departure (no pun intended) from the 1st 3, but put it on the shelf until the time is right to dive back in. My priority for future recordings now is strictly Journey...

Hey JSS that`s a good ideal just one project at a time , we don`t want you to burn the candle at both ends and lose you for a certain time because of a burnout !!!

Journey need you !! We all need you !! You`re the Man!!

Yes, it is very cool of him to take the time to answer questions - remember there is a live chat on Sat. on his website - there is a thread here by Nath about it. :)

so, where do you see the band going....., ballads with new twist, or soul sirkus with ballads added? remember, queen can still be queen, but with a new influence.

They'd be a lot more like Queen with a vocalist who, you know, was actually influenced by Queen.

Looking forward to the new Journey stuff...if it's anywhere near as good as "Believe in Me" (which really you should consider re-recording for the new Journey LP) we're all in for a treat.

I second the motion !!!

If the new stuff as a twist like`` Believe in Me`` it`s going to be amasing , now if only we can have air play so that some Journey fans realise that there still alive and kicking some ASS !!!
