Anyone else ever seen this show? Watching it for the first time. Cool hat on Friga's grill during the first song.

No, never! But boy would I like to ;). The Babys were a favorite of mine back in the day. I still love Head First. I remember when they were on the same bill as Journey, Summer Blowout (?), just before Jon became a member. Seems like yesterday  .

I was just given this DVD from MR/Annex member "Michael Leigh".

He also dropped off some John Waite and Bad English live footage. Great stuff! Mike, Niggy and I had a blast last weekend hanging out just watching rare live stuff.

He's usually lurking once or twice a day. BTW his band is a total 80's party band. If I were single I could have hooked up major at their gig. Don't think that fact wasn't lost on Lori.

Here's a great video with John Waite, Friga, Deen, and Neal:

I always wondered why they never asked John Waite to front Journey before Augeri. John had a pretty high vocal range, at least as good as Augeri's.

I bet they knew that John Waite wouldn't sing the "sappy shit"........ Remember, John Waite rejected "Open Arms" when Jon presented him with the song.... :D

Gack! I cannot see Journey with John Waite. If you think Perry's ego was huge....Waite is worse.

because they HATE john waite,, cain stated he would never step on stage with the guy ever again...BUT when waite opened for journey a few years ago,, i really really figured a jam session with the guys,, i think cain was serious... deen even has stated that waite wants certain drum parts.. behind the vocals if you will,, waite is the boss in his world.. i suppose he is very difficult..

Tough Times Dont last is one of the best melodic rock tunes of all time... that sucker moves... neal adds that touch he has.. hes unbeatable ,,

i saw Ringo Starr's last tour ,, waite completely owned the bass.. has some chops.. and added background vocals that ive never heard,, AND they played When i see you Smile,, it was crazy to see ringo and collin hays and sheila E. playing that .. was so cool...

If Mrs AR let me go to AC and Boston, and now a couple of days in Florida, there is no way she is worried about me seeing Mike's band without her.

Maybe we can get there early and grab a bite!!Let me know!!

Just as an FYI, you and Donna are on my website with me and Ross!!
Check it out here:http://www.thereaganyears.com/bio_mike.html

Yeah it was. LOL That song brings back some memories.

I saw The Babys open for Journey in 1980, when Jon was still with them. That was my first Journey show. I remember too, I got a new stereo for my birthday one year, and the first song I played was "Back On My Feet Again."

Funny how I can remember shit like that, but I barely remember what I did yesterday.

That is funny! I never did see The Babys, or Perry for that matter. I had to miss the Journey concert when they came to town in '86, which frustrates me to no end now!! I missed my only chance to see Steve P. I was only 10 when they came around in '83 and my parents would never have let me go, unfortunately. My first Journey concert was in '98. It's not often that I wish I was OLDER!

Yep, that was in 1980 when The Babys opened for Journey. The Babys actually headlined near me that year and I saw both acts separately.
I have that video of them in Montreal and I hope there are better copies out there. Mine has alot of drop outs in the sound!
