Looks like Journey will perform on Independence Day at Tanglewood Music Festival,in Lenox,Massachusetts.

Friday, February 02

LENOX

They were the band that helped you get your first kiss.
The band with big hair and even bigger ballads.

The band you laughed at in public yet sang to in the car.

That band is Journey, and come the Fourth of July, Tanglewood will be awash in the nostalgia of the Atari generation.

The summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra announced yesterday that Journey — minus its famous tenor Steve Perry — will play the wildly popular Independence Day show inside the Shed.

Tickets go on sale Feb. 11.

Take it easy,NIG,the real fans don't give a damn about those things. We all know how Journey was always treated by malicious press geeks.

I just thinked it's pretty weird to promote an event by insulting the band.

I'm not even sure they really wanted to insult the band...Maybe all those remarks are the consequence of the long years in which the band was presented the way it was...,I dunno.Neal's fro was something unforgettable,so maybe that's why the "big hair" was mentioned.

I remember that stupid VH1 documentary where they invited VIPs to discuss Journey...
There was a lot of subtle mockery aimed at the band, and it was said that people don't admit listening to Journey because it's considered *cheesy*,but they do listen in secret. Now THAT is stupid.

Who knows who wrote this promo...Maybe it's one of those who secretly obsessed over Journey and had an equally secret crush on Neal's fro.

According to MapQuest, it's 2 hours; 90 miles. Up Route 8 - so I think it's right above us here in Southwestern CT.

A few more details on the July show...At least on this site they got the line-up right.

Concert

It's called "An Evening With Journey".I wonder if that means a 2 or 3 hour setlist...
Grand finish with fireworks...Neal's SSB would be a perfect start then. :)

This is great! I thought they weren't going to tour this summer. I always wanted to experience Tanglewood. Will they offer members a pre-sale option?
