"You Write The Song" Thread

Postby Carlitto H@kk » Thu Feb 08, 2007 2:21 pm

Ok, Larry and I are having too much fun with this in Random Threads
so I am going to set this one up just for our insanity :)

It's easy. Take a favorite song, change some words around to fit
this board, folks here or Journey

Some examples...

"Lovin DREW is Easy"
I know you got that special something, oh, Wombat
I know you like to keep it hummin', oh woh Wombat
'Cause girl, lovin' DREW is so easy.
Oh, woh, woh. Lovin' DREW is so easy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
My, my, my, my, my, my, myWombat
Yeah, yeah, yeah.

Come on Drew, give me that good lovin', oh Wombat
Come on Drew, keep the motor hummin, oh, woh, Wombat
'Cause lovin' DREW is so easy.
My, my, my, my
Lovin' DREW is easy.
Lovin' DREW is easy.

Drew, after the story unfolds,
After the band has had their say,
Oh, we'll be thinkin' of you.
Yes, we'll be screaming out your name!
Lovin' DREW is easy
Lovin' DREW is easy
Lovin' DREW is easy
Lovin' DREW is easy
Oh, I'm lovin', lovin', lovin', lovin', lovin', lovin', lovin' DREW
Oh, and it's easy (easy).
Oh, I'm lovin', lovin', lovin', lovin', lovin', lovin', lovin' DREW
Oh, and it's easy (easy).

Or this new little gem...]

Purple Shirt
I never meant 2 cause u any sorrow
I never meant 2 get u in any dirt
I only wanted 2 one time see u ironned
I only wanted 2 see u dry-cleaned, oh my Purple Shirt
Purple Shirt Purple Shirt
Purple Shirt Purple Shirt
Purple Shirt Purple Shirt

I only wanted 2 see me jamming in my Purple Shirt

Shirt, I know, I know, I know times are changing
It's time we all reach out 4 something new
But that doesn't mean u 2
U say u want a leader
But u can't seem 2 make up your mind
I think u better button up
And let me slip inside you Purple Shirt
Purple Shirt Purple Shirt
Purple Shirt Purple Shirt
Purple Shirt Purple Shirt

And Finally, my little Ode To Larry...

Don't Cha wish your girlfriend
was HOTS, Larry?
Don't Cha wish your girlfriend
was a freak like TNC?
Don't Cha?
Don't Cha, Larry?

So let's see how creative and flat-out STOOPID we can get.
But just TRY to keep the "slams" light-hearted if you can

Dedicated to all the
"PerryLoons" around the world
that still have a glimmer
of hope...

SUNG TO "BLACK BALLOON" BY THE GOO GOO DOLLS :)

Baby's a PerryLoon and she's high
Stevie's silence has left a hole in her life
But she's still thinking 'bout tomorrow
Cuz she is the same as me
But a bit naive

A thousand other voices could never reach you
How come Steve's the only one?
He's livin' life fine without you
And hiding from all of the loons just like you...

Come on down, your dream is over
Perry's done and he cut his hair
And Journey goes on as you get older
You haven't got a prayer...

You know the lies he always told you
about the songs he never really wrote
And all the things he never showed you
Like scars on his hip, it's a lie, what a flippin' joke, yeah...

Come on down, your dream is over
Perry's done and he cut his hair
And Journey goes on as you get older
You haven't got a prayer...

Gotta do something for fun around here!
Politics, 'Perla' and the War in Iraq have
beat me done and made me want to
rip someone's heart out :)

So this is how I am venting now...
Some light-hearted comedy :D

oooh this'll be gettin' good....

Here's mine....all I could think up right now:

To the tune of: "After the Fall":

(ALL IN GOOD FUN, PEOPLE (DEANO!))

Rockin’Deano’s gone
Can this Board go on?
Deano’s gone….

Oh, and by the way,
Av’s not lookin’ great:
Jon Cain? That’s just SO WRONG!

Should’a told him,
But, who knew?
Should’a told him right
From the staaaaaaaaaaaaaart…

That his Av’s not lookin’ right
But if I told him
I’d break his HEART!

Carl,
You should seriously PM Jeff with the lyrics to "Purple Shirt" so he can give them to Neal! I busted a gut over that one!

Ladies and Gentlemen, I think this may be
my finest one yet...
And it was "inspired" by a comment NIG said
in another thread :)

SUNG TO "MYSTERIOUS WAYS" BY U2

Stevie, take a walk. Get the hell off my stage
Let your pale ass wiggle on, we're turning the page
You've been living off of Tape, eating from my hand
You've been running away from what you don't understand
"Sing LIVE"

Jeffey's slammin', you're sliding down
He'll be here when the lights go down...

It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
Neal works in mysterious ways
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
Neal works in mysterious ways

Perry, kiss my ass with your shnoz and them tails
Re-issue all you want, your career has failed
'Your hip never healed', Come on man, get real
If you want to kiss my ass, better learn how to kneel
"On your knees, Bitch"

Jeffey's slammin', you're sliding down
He'll be here when the lights go down...

It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
Neal works in mysterious ways
It's alright, it's alright, it's alright
Neal works in mysterious ways

That's pretty funny - YOUCH! I was trying to just come up with a light-hearted take on Chain Reaction:

You’re In Traction

I bet you – she’s the one
Who hit you – on the run
Those pain meds
They’ll get you through
You’ll need assistance
To help you chew

I bet you – she’ll find a way
To hurt you – another day
You endure
Wait for her to come
She’ll strike at midnight
You suck your thumb

You’re in traction – no compassion
You want to send her – no parole

So now you – live in misery
That banshee
Now pleads insanity
You mumble – before you bawl
Won’t be the last time
No not at all

More lotion – to your dismay
The red bite
She left on you that day
Has inflamed
In proportion to
The Hellish existence
She’s made for you

You’re in traction – no compassion
You want to send her – no parole
You’re in traction – legal action
In a diaper – all alone

So now just where do you go
No underwear

You’re in traction – no compassion
You want to send her – no parole
You’re in traction – legal action
In a diaper – all alone

Is there a story behind that one?

BTW, I'm not rushing it because it's got
to be perfectly shameless but I'm cookin'
up one 'just for you'.

No story behind it. I was just thinking of JOURNEY songs to parody and that popped into my head for whatever reason. I just tried to stay true to the original idea while at the same time make it a bit more silly.

One just for me? Oh boy...

Oh what the hell...
I just heard this song on the radio
and, even though he really doesn't
post here much anymore, his name
just fit perfectly to the main riff...

So I give you a song for "Monker" :)

SUNG TO "BAD CASE OF LOVING YOU (DOCTOR, DOCTOR)"
BY THE LATE, GREAT ROBERT PALMER

Whooaaaaa
Hot summer night... feel like surfing the net
He's gotta to find a good thread to vent
He needs to... speak his mind
and replies to every line that you write

Monker, Monker tell us your views
You're a nutjob with a few loose screws
No pill's gonna cure your ills
You're a nutjob with a few loose screws
