Pompano Beach, FL Road Report

Postby mgstar1964 » Sun Feb 11, 2007 5:04 pm

Hello all,
Just got back from a MOST AMAZING concert at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater tonight. I got to hook up w/ a lot of other fellow Journey Fanatics, both before and after the show, and everyone agreed that Journey is firing on all cylinders now, with Jeff ! Jeff seems really comfortable in his newly appointed, "OFFICIAL" slot. So, here goes with the details. No opening act. Just like w/ the Def Leppard tour, The Who's "Won't Get Fooled Again" preceded the band's entrance onto the stage. Very similar to Queen's "We Will Rock You" preceding Def Leppard - great warm-up intro to let you know the show is about to start. Journey took the stage at 8:22 pm, and finished their last encore and bows at 10:15 pm. 1 Hr., 55 Min. - Great show, Great Energy. The band interacted wonderfully with each other, laughing and high-fiving each other on stage, and interacted very well with the crowd - Jeff, especially. They threw out so many guitar picks and drum sticks to the audience by the end of the show - a great bonus if you caught one! Fashion Report: Jon - Brown pants, white shirt. Neal - all black outfit - black button-down shirt (open half-way) - NO sunglasses tonight. Jeff had on his patented blue jeans with the metal chain, and a variety of shirts. At the end, he wore a Miami Heat jersey, and then, for Separate Ways encore, wore a Florida Panthers jersey. Very cool !

Set List: 1 hr. 55 Min.

1. Message Of Love
2. Neal Solo
3. Rubicon
4. Stone In Love
5. Ask The Lonely
6. Wheel In The Sky
7. Send Her My Love - Jeff was AMAZING !
8. Faith In The Heartland - AWESOME !
9. Edge of The Blade
10. I'll Be Alright Without You
11. Chain Reaction
12. Lights
13. Opened The Door - AMAZING VERSION - RARE!
14. Jon Solo
15. Open Arms
16. Lovin', Touchin', Squeezin'

18. Where Were You - Rocked The House !
19. Faithfully
20. Don't Stop Believin'
21. Any Way You Want It
Encore:

Anyway, it was great to see everyone tonight - enjoyed hanging out w/ the Journey Crew from Texas, California, Michigan, and other parts of Florida ! You Guys Rock !
Can't wait until the new CD next year !
Journey Rocks - 2007 & Beyond !

Regards,

Michael

Very cool, the set list is great. I'm glad a good time was had. Wish I was there. Rock ON!
I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Hello all,

Glad everyone here had as wonderful a time as I did ...

Zino - sorry we couldn't hook up before the show ... would have been nice to meet you - I'll definitely have to stop by the restaurant or something to say 'hey' to a fellow Journey fan ...

AR, DCVADER, and of course, DEANO - glad you guys were down here to enjoy the shows, as I think that they're a special "treat"for 2007 ... Dean, shoot me a PM when you get back ...

Regards,

Michael

If somebody will tell me how to do it, I've got several songs saved to my digital camera (audio only) that I'll share with you guys. The Clearwater songs are probably better than the Pompano, cause we were standing with Deano, Vader, AR and 'the Normanator' at Pompano and there's a lot more talking going on.

Help... :?
