I like to sit out on the front porch, where the birds can see me, eating a plate of scrambled eggs, just so they know what I'm capable of.

Sorry, I don't have boots or a set list to give you, I'm sure someone will shortly. I can say though, that this has been the best concert so far (and I've been to several :) ) The vocals were dead on, and JSS nailed every high note! All I could say the whole night was "WOW" :D Incredible is the only word I can use to describe it. Opened the door almost had me in tears! It was a small venue. The whole band was having such a good time, full of energy. The audience was very into it the entire time (unlike the older crowd in Clearwater who didn't want anyone standing during the concert  ) Hopefully there are some boots to follow so you can see a little of what I'm talking about! They wouldn't allow cameras of any kind, and they wanded you as you went in, but I think maybe someone may have been able to breach security

Just got back to NYC from Florida.

The shows were AMAZING!!!

Highlights at HOB were Rubicon, Send Her My Love, Where Were You, Faith In the Heartland and, of course, Opened The Door.
All the guys were having a great time on stage. Jeff nailed every note of every song and then some.

Didn't even try to get my camera in at HOB, but have a ton of pics to go through from Clearwater. Will put them up later, but right now, I'm exhausted!!!!

I don't have much more to add since I was standing right next to SPH, lol. We did both look at each other a few times & just said "WOW"...Jeff did things with his voice that were incredible, the whole show was simply amazing. The best I've heard & seen so far. 8)

Postby SueinFlorida » Wed Feb 14, 2007 4:01 am

I just got back from all three shows and all I can say is that Journey just keeps getting better and better. Simply amazing!! :D

The one thing that really surprised me was that with each show the audience seems to get younger and younger, especially at the House of Blues. Has anyone else noticed this?

I have a few pictures from the Pompano show and as soon as my daughter can find time, I will get them posted.

We'll see if the younger crowd that are attending these concerts are willing to spend money on NEW Journey material next year...

Yes! Definitely HOB had a younger audience. Clearwater DID NOT though! I think it was the difference in venue. One was a theater as apposed to House of Blues. It cracked me up that when Open Arms played young drunk couples all around were making out up in the balcony area. It brought back memories of the roller rinks

Never too old for a Journey Concert. :D Funny thing is both of my daughters were with me for these concerts. Well, my youngest was only there for the HOB (this was her first Journey concert) and she made a comment that the show wore her out. :?

Just got home to Texas from Florida. I can't really add anything else that hasn't already been said about the HOB show. It was incredible. The BEST I have seen with Jeff, and I have been to a LOT of shows over the past few months! I think it was absolute perfection. The guys were TIGHT, and Jeff nailed every note and then some. I was on the rail in front of Neal, and they were having a BLAST! Unbelievable. Pompano was good too, and so was Clearwater, except for the hateful people behind us telling us to sit down, but HOB was the pinnacle. SO glad I made the trip to Florida!

There were 3 young guys sitting behind us when we were waiting for the M&G at Pompano. I struck up a conversation with them, and asked them WHY they were there. They said they have been Journey fans for some time now, but were Perry fans, not Augeri fans. One of them was 20, and the other two were 21!! They said they didn't know much about JSS, and when I told them he was the voice of Steel Dragon in Rockstar, they really got excited!!! Of course we talked about where we were from and all about the message boards. I think it impressed them that some of us fans literally came from all over the country for the shows.

I do believe that we're gonna continue to see the younger crowd following these guys again, mostly due to Jeff. Jeff's got the energy, the look, and the attitude to win over the younger audience. But, when they get into it a little bit, they're gonna discover the legacy of Steve Perry and the rest of the band. It's a win-win situation. The only way it could be better is if it were SP himself performing with them. (Sorry, Jeff. You know I love you too!!!)

HOB Orlando show was the best by a mile. Sound, crowd, ability to get a beer and take a piss quickly among other things.

My ranking order for these 3 shows 1st HOB Orlando, 2nd Pompano, 3rd Clearwater.

Clearwater really had a Geritol feel to the crowd, no beer inside the seating area. and kind of a artsy fartsy place. The sound was really good there anyway.

Pompano was great because there are not many places to see an outdoor concert in Feb.

I didnt go to Pompano, but I went to Clearwater and Orlando. The Clearwater show was amazing. The sound system and the acoustics at Ruth Eckerd Hall where fantastic....I had someone listening in on the phone the whole show and they could hear it perfectly. The HOB show was dissapointing to me....the sound was to loud and very distorted .....even when I went out on the balcony further away it was too distorted, imo......had the same person on the phone and we just gave up on him trying to hear a song thru because of the distortion......but the guys were on and playing well. I guess it depends on what was more important to you in your concert experience. The experience of sound in a well designed concert hall....or the wilder party atmosphere at the HOB. The most important thing to me was hearing the music clearly with great acoustics, clearness and quality. The Clearwater crowd was older and more sedated, but when hearing remarks when leaving they knew that Jeff was now the singer for the most part , ...even those hearing him for the first time.....they were more informed from what I heard..... very positive remarks on the quality of Jeffs performance. At the HOB some of the crowd was younger.....and the energy was higher....but that was also due to alot of alcohol consumption ...it got pretty wild and rowdy. There was a girl, 23, who I was talking to at HOB....she came with her mom and was upset.....she had no idea that Steve Perry wasnt singing in the band anymore......said her mom didnt tell her...just asked if she wanted to go see Journey for the first time....so she didnt know until she got there that SP wasnt the singer......I told her some info to bring her up to date on the band but she wasnt interested....she said she heard that voice singing the songs and thats what she was interested in seeing....said she was disappointed and wanted to leave...had no interest in seeing them again without Perry. I thought that was an interesting reaction for someone that was new to Journey music , from only recently hearing cd's of Perry singing it.

Was just referring to the distortion in the sound during the show....not the whole experience. It was great to meet you Dean. I came away with a new insight to your character that is not seen on the board. Your a pretty decent, nice guy after all....who's passion for this band is evident. I think you have been mis- judged on your motivations through tapegate....I dont feel you were out to hurt the band at all....I think you wanted them to be their best and not go out that way....didnt want them deceiving and being dishonest with the music. People need to let that go and stop blaming you for it...and it was right for the truth to come out, be dealt with and changes made. ....now the band can move on with Jeff and SA can move on with his future....so the fans should be able to move forward with them or just let go and move on to something else if they dont like the new direction.
I can also see where there are some who you have attacked on forums who would have some hard feelings towards you and judge you on your posts and things you have said to them...I can relate to that after you attacked me a couple times.....and it was pretty brutal and personal, but we ended it by joking around and you were man enough to admit you were wrong and apologized......I appreciate that....showed me another side to your character...thats why I was interested in meeting you in person. When I did I found out I was right in what I saw past the ruff, gruff, rude, and sometimes vulgar posting habits you have. Met a very nice, giving, open and friendly person. I wish that others who only know you thru your posts could meet you also and see who you really are. Although you can be vulgar, obnoxious, and crude you are not really out to hurt people and you do alot for others.People need to let any hard feelings they harbor towards you go....and you towards them and forgive and forget....hating is like a disease and will only damage you if you harbor it. Get back to enjoying the music...thats what its all about! Apologize for past transgressions....leave it in the past....make amends and move forward....life is too short and there are other more important burdens to bear and carry thru it without adding an additional load that is not necessary to carry. Thanks for the passes....I appreciate it very much ...meeting the band was not important to me but your giving to me gave me the opportunity to give to someone else....I'm also going to send them the autographs I got....so thanks for the assist. I hope your detractors do not mistake my words and think I'm saying these things because of a couple passes....that is not the case..wasnt important to me.....I'm just saying what I think and what my opinion is......besides...I dont feel like I owe you anything....I gave you quite alot...so I think it's even! ...I heard the airlines lost it all, though!....drat...wanted you to get a little art appreciation!
....anyway...I think you should take Andrew and some other peoples advice....keep your passion...just work on your communication skills a little...and dont drink and post!! .....wish you, Lula, your family and the new coming attraction all the best! 8)
