Someone mentioned this band in a thread a while back, but I can't find it right now.
Who has heard them and are they any good. I mean, I know they can't possibly compare to our Frontiers(Funny how we feel proprietary over them isnt it?

) I'd just like to have some idea about this other band.
The guy who books musical acts for a new theatre/music venue in the small town closest to me(Gretna, VA) called and said he thinks he has this band booked and expects me to be there. He's married to my niece and knows I'm a Journey fanatic,

. He's doing the best he can to get something other than bluegrass and country groups. He did manage an Elvis impersonator a while back,

but I didn't go.

If you are talking about the escape tribute band that had Jason Kelty on vocals and Scott Pisota on guitar there is none better. They sounded JUST LIKE Journey. No tribute band I have heard comes close to the level of performance these guys could muster and the drummer was a big part of that too. He played with the Smith feel almost perfectly which completed the formula. Frontiers is awesome and nothing bad can be said about them however if you saw Escape back in the day you would understand. You left the show feeling like you saw Journey and thats no shit. Spot on harmonies, Scott sounded JUST LIKE Rollie and Kelty could sing anything that Perry could. A rare chemistry.. And BTW I am supposed to be getting some video footage of these guys from back in the day. I hope the quality is good. Some of you that never saw them will be amazed. I know I might get slammed for this but I will say it anyway. IF they played on the same night as the real Journey with the current line up (I love jss dont get me wrong) I would go see Escape. It would be cheaper and sound more like the classic Journey which is what I want to hear more so. With that said if they played in the same week I would go see both. Dont flame me !

I'm not sure who the players are in this band, but I know they come out of the midwest, they're not local. I'll make a note of those names and see if Devin can find out of they're the same ones.

Some people here call that the midwest, I'll check and see if that's where they're coming from.
Didn't someone say in that other thread that they had changed frontmen? That Jason Kelty name sounds like the one they said was no longer with them.

Ive seen many vids of Evolution and I am sure that Escape was better. Jason has very very powerfull pipes and not knocking Hugo but they were way better. I saw them more times that I can count and I never saw a single "bad night" and Jason nailed it always. The guy was just born with the right set of cords for singing in that range. He sounded like Perry 77- through 80. I remember them doing Just the same way and getting goosebumps during the "you should be home and holding his nads part" heh. One of my fav songs too.

Do they have a web site so I can see for my self?
Because I am a huge Journey Tribute fan and have seen all the tributes and hands down EVOLUTION puts on the best Journey show out of them all.
So let see if this band Escape can change my mind.

Yep, I saw Escape with Jason Kelty years ago in Greenwich Village, NYC ... they put on a great show and sounded great ... Looks like they broke up way back in '97 or '98 ... funny enough, there's a Jason Kelty that's a computer repair tech out of Ohio that has a business called Escape PC Service ... maybe he's hung up the microphone for a 9-5 gig ...

Are you talking about the band from Texas? I know they have vids on You Tube, too.

All I know right now is that he has a tentative booking of a Journey tribute band called Escape and they are out of the midwest. I was trying to see if anyone here knew anything about them. My daughter's going to a show at that theater today. If she sees Devin she's going to ask him for more details.
