Journey needs to have the NEXT CD go platinum in order for any honors to go their way.

Journey definately would fit in the "Honors" category. Maybe for the 1st quarter of 2008 when they have a new CD to plug...

Now that they have a lead singer who isn't manically croaking and screaching behind a giant windscreened microphone while a separate vocal track is sent to the FOH mix (notice I didn't say lip synching, Ross and Neal :D ), it would be nice to see them on television again.

There album hit #16 on billboard last year--and the single no matter what did well last year.

Journey will NEVER be honored with any kind of ceremony that Perry isn't part of. It's a nice thought, but it simply won't happen, in this, or any other lifetime!

On another note...Good for Heart! I always thought Ann Wilson had one of the best female voices I ever heard! That woman can flat out sing her ass off!

Actually, they could because this show has no real "weight". It is not a "real" honor like the RNRHOF is supposed to be.

Considering that heart hasn't put out an Album/CD in ages full with new music. opting for something ridiculous like 4-5 'greatest hits and a few live CD's in the last 10+ years. Why coudln't Journey be on the Honors list? I LOVE Heart but I'd rather they just go away, rather than re-issue songs over and over every other year.

Heart released Jupiter's Darling 2 years ago. A pretty decent CD seeing a return to their late 70's sound. A bit long but pretty good.

Just goes to show how much promotion and placement at record stores there is for Heart then.

I think the promotion and placement is equally bad for all bands from the 70's and 80's. Heart has done some promoting on VH1 classic not too long ago. They even had a live concert there. Many of the older groups have. That's usually how I've come to learn they are still recording and perfoming. Too bad there aren't other avenues for promoting for these bands. I even saw a recent Journey 1/2 hour on VH1 classic. It had Neal and Jon talking about the group in between each video. It was something done in the last year, can't remember what they called the segment. The only thing is all of the videos and discussion were Perry era. It would be cool to see Journey do some sort of live concert on VH1 classic! Okay, well maybe not a concert, that's what tours are for! A "Hangin with Journey" would be great though!

Yeah, I remember seeing ads for Jupiter's Darling on VH1 Classic a lot. That's probably the best place for a classic rock band to promote new stuff. That, and MR.com, of course.

I'm pretty sure that VH1 actually did do a "Hangin' With Journey" not that long ago. I recall seeing the entire band with Augeri, sitting around answering questions.

Ug, that must have been last years tour. I missed that one, so they'll just have to do another one for me, with JSS when their next album comes out.
