Man, I just heard this news from a co-worker. Here's the news report from NH TV.
ATKINSON, N.H. -- Bradley Delp, the lead singer of the 1970s band Boston, died Friday at his home in Atkinson.
Police are calling Delp's death "untimely," but they said there was no indication of foul play. Investigators said he was apparently alone at the time of his death.
Delp, 55, was preparing for a summer tour with Boston and was also planning to get married this summer.
SUCKS!

This report was from NH's WMUR TV station web site. It is true I believe. Here's the link

Brad was one of my favorite singers. He had a band called Beatlejuice that played Beatles covers and was quite popular in NH and Massachusetts

The Boston Channel is a very reputable source, so it's definitely true. The Boston Channel is actually the website for the local ABC affiliate in Boston (WCVB). I must say that I'm quite stunned to hear of the news. I just recently did a loan (I own a mortgage company) for Sib Hashian, who was the lead drummer in Boston. These were all local guys, who were pretty well known and liked. I currently live two towns away from Atkinson, and have been told that Delp was a really good guy and just a "regular" neigborhood guy. Very, very sad news.

Brad was a vegetarian and kind of a healthy lifestyle advocate I'm pretty sure.

Damn. This is really rough. Best to his family...helluva sweet guy. Incredible singer. In his prime, aside from the obvious (Perry) I can't think of many rock vocalists in his league.

This is shattering, completely devastating. I had ommitted him in my list last week, but I've always regarded him on the same tier (albeit with a different style) as Steve Perry and Tommy Shaw, my two other favourite melodic rock lead singers. I'm just torn up to shreds about this...I'd been planning to see a few shows this summer. My God...

Completely fucked up and sucks. Truly lost one of the most genuine coolest down to earth dude, plus the guy had a great voice and was a perfect fit to sing the words of Boston music because his soul matched the lyrics.
One of my favorite band for years and this totally bites. FUCK. In many ways lost a good one.
Rest in peace bud.

Just sad news.
I remember getting hooked on Boston in middle school when Third Stage came out. Who couldn't help liking "Amanda"? I've been a fan of Boston and all of Brad's other projects (RTZ, Barry Goudreau's solo album) ever since. He had such a voice. The perfect match for the guitar-rich sound of Boston.
When I got my first CD player in 1991, I only owned three cd's at first- Boston's three albums to date. And then I got RTZ...just because Brad was the vocalist. Had they stuck with Fergie Frederiksen, I would have wiped my ass with my hand rather than that CD if those were the only two choices because I would have been willing to bet the CD would have given me anal warts. Brad's voice made that band. Look what happened to them when he decided to return to Boston.
Boston's worst cd? "Walk On." The difference? No Brad Delp.
Hopefully, he didn't suffer and is now with his "Higher Power." My thoughts go out to Boston and Brad's fiancee.
My world is spinning but I'm not afraid...

Wow, that just took my breath. I'll always be sick now that I never got to see them live. They are one of my top 3 favorite bands. I've played their music so much in my life. Wrote and recorded all their own music. With the heaviest heart, I say RIP Mr. Delp. You've been along for a lot of great times in my life.

I've been to at least 15 Boston shows...I was lucky enough to meet him in 1997, when he first rejoined the band. A phenomenal guy, very humble and low-key. Devastating.
