Alright AR, I'm in but did you sign? If you signed under the bolded conditions below I'm in.

What we are trying to do:
1. Bring the Colts back to Baltimore
2. Restore the Colts logos and colors
3. Affect Indianapolis' history in any way
4. Direct any lingering frustration towards Colts’ ownership (past or present)

My opinion:

I wish that the team would have changed it's name when they moved. However, I can accept the Indianapolis Colts. There are so many Baltimore Colts players still living here, that just want a display at the Hall of Fame that lists them under the name Baltimore. That is all. Have an Indianapolis Colts display and a Baltimore Ravens/Colts display.

Just watched disc 1 of the history of the Colts from Netflix, and it was excellent.

Peyton Manning is an Indianapolis Hero
John Unitas is a Baltimore Hero

That should be reflected in Canton, Ohio in that museum.

Thanks for signing Aaron. I really think this is being done with the right intentions. It isn't intended against the Indianapolis Colts or their fans, it is to honor the players of the Baltimore Colts.

I have on many occassions been too bitter about all of it, but I think this action is a much more positive thing. Just honor the players that played in Baltimore the way they wish. A gesture like this by the HOF would let the fans here finally move on. Apparently, they have already aknowledged it and some changes are already in the works.

I agree with everything you said below. I think it's the right thing. Good luck with it.

Tell me, how much did Peyton and Dungy pay to the refs for all those bogus, BS calls against the Pats in the AFC title game? The call on Hobbs in the end zone when he wasn't within two feet of the WR, and he gets flagged for PI on third down? And the non-call when Brown got mauled in the end zone on a ball that went off his fingertips? That's a 10 to 14 point swing right there. The Colts lost that game, but the NFL DESPERATELY wanted to get Peyton a title, so they did whatever they could to make it happen. That was the biggest pile of BS ever.

There was a time that I wasn't overly sympathetic to the plight of Baltimore fans. I always found it a bit hypocritical that they went on and on about how a team was stolen from them and then not a single one of them complained too loudly when that LOSER Modell stole the Browns away from Cleveland (a city with just as storied of a history in football as Baltimore)!

Having said that, I agree with Ed 100% on this. A team's heritage is a part of their entire history. Just because the Irsays decided to sneak out of Baltimore, under the cover of darkness, doesn't wipe out their long history in the city of Baltimore! It actually must be very confusing for fans and former players. The Ravens are really the Cleveland Browns and the Baltimore Colts now play in Indianapolis. Now, everyone has to decide whether their loyalty is to a team or to a city. Unfortunately, it's a sad reality of pro sports that teams sometimes move. I don't think many of these owners really grasp just how important these teams are to its fans.

I definitely think the players who were part of the Baltimore Colts should be recognized as being part of the city of Baltimore's history. Good luck with the petition, Ed.

Interesting that St. Louis doesn't complain about the lack of a St. Louis Cardinals section in the HOF. Just shows that Baltimore fans are passionate about football.

I think there are probably a few reasons for that, NIG. First and foremost, the Cardinals have sucked FOREVER, and nobody is ever passionate about a consistent loser. You're not going to find a whole lot of passionate LA Clipper fans! Also, I think the Cardinals have had a much more nomadic existence than the Colts. I think the Cardinals actually started out in Chicago, moved to St. Louis, and then onto Arizona, and they still can't find anyone who gives a damn

Yeah, and the Houston Oilers are another example, although I believe they started in Houston. Maybe the HOF thinks it would be opening a can of worms to give Baltimore two teams in there? I dunno.
