Updates & antibiotics

Thought I'd say hi, been invisible the last days getting better from this damn virus that nearly destroyed the last few dates of the UK portion. I woke up on the 1st of 2 days off with the feeling I was swallowing razor blades after the show in Bournemouth, I knew I had a smidge of what was going around on the bus but I thought I'd fought it off well enough...fat chance. Started antibiotics that night & even after 2 days of silence & hibernation, I felt the Birmingham show was gonna be a rough & indeed it was. Worries of the following night in London of course, as I had high expectations of knocking this one out of the ballpark...thankfully I woke to a smoother, soothing feeling in my throat & from there it was all about the regiments & warmup.

And HELLO LADY!! Could have quite possibly been the performance of the tour, from all of us!!! The bar was raised by the whole band & with sound firing full guns ablaze, I have never seen a crowd like that at any show in London....besides Queen :)

So, guess I can say I'm back & we're simply unstoppable now, it feels amazing, tonight since we're returning to a city we played our 2nd show at, we're changing quite a few things around. It will be a treat to those who were here the 1st night but more so, I have asked the band (so I NEVER have to read again 'they played nothing from ROR, or Generations, or Arrival, etc.,) that as much as possible & from now on, we do at least 1 song from EVERY (LP) album, Infinity to Generations...this begins tonight!

Hopefully as well I'll have more access in the next days, imagine at our hotel in London, £20 a day for internet, where I'm from that's $40 a day so I can argue with you lot!! Fuck that! :) This place is damn expensive, whetherv you're singing for Journey or U2!

In reference to changing the shows around: For the record....I'd like to thank you for not treating this as a drama production where you do the same moves, say the same stuff, look at the same people night after night and show after show.

Perry (God bless that man forever!) Did that the last time I saw him on his last tour and it was like a mirror production...no ad libs, no spontenatiety. You have restored that excitement where those of us that come stalk *I mean* see you multiple times per tour, that we never see the same moves or songs twice. I appreciate your efforts, truly. That is part of the reason why you are at the level you are as a musician and a person.

Ok, enough ass kissing. Carry on.

Just like the story you told me about David Coverdale coming to you and tell you " Great Job Jeff" last summer ,,, and you were just amazed that he knew your name !
Great to see all that hard work is finally payin off. Enjoy the rest of your European tour. Im still surprised you guys didnt choose to play a show in Stockholm. You know your die hard fans come from that area

Is that not the worst sickness in the world? Had it once, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy or the best loon.

All I wanted to do was go toes up and I was too sick to fall asleep for 4 days. How bout THAT?

Sorry to ramble but the mere mention of that fucking plague of an illness struck a chord.

Dude, what a nightmare! Glad you got yourself back into shape, pretty quickly. Stop shaking so many hands! You need to take a page from the Perry book - At the end of the night, Soto has left the building!! :P

Good for you, staying above it because we saw a couple posts recently that said you were cocky, disrespectful to perry, augeri, and basically offended every revered musician this side of elvis and the OLD you would've needed to deal with that. :)

Jeff,

Sure as hell beats the ₤450 bill for the limo that Melissa and I took to Birmingham just to see another show! Yes, I know you think we have lost our minds, but it was well worth our treck all across the UK just to make this 'journey' and to meet everyone along the way. We had a blast even though we didn't get much siteseeing done.

The London Show was definitely the best out of all. Thanks for being such a wonderful entertainer and good luck with the rest of the tour. Get well mister and looking forward to seeing you once again in Virginia in May!!!

I'd love to see if Jeff or Deen can pull off "Why Can't This Night Go On Forever". I'm not a musician, but it surely seems like it's a very challenging song to sing. Has Journey EVER performed this song one single time, since Perry???
