I received an e-mail from my friend today. I was shocked when I read it. This is the same guy I went to see Steve Perry twice with on the FTLOSM tour. He has been a huge Journey fan for a long time. I think I've seen Journey with Augeri at the helm at least 7 times with him. Because he's a paranoid weirdo, we'll call him Tito (he hates Mexicans, so that'll chap his ass). Anyway, I received this from Tito today. I'd appreciate your honest comments be directed toward Tito and his opinions. Deano, I expect an epic post from you especially. Here it is:

"You know what, I changed my mind. I'm not wasting my time debating on the stupid stuff. You have to let it go. Specifically, I'm talking about Journey. Wasting time with dumb, but at times humorous, posts on message boards is for dorks. Journey is a good band but all they are now is touring band. Nothing new is coming from them again that will be worth a damn. Going to Viriginia with a bunch of message board geeks and weirdos to go see them is ridiculous."

It's only fair that I add that "Tito" dragged me to my only Soul Sirkus show in Chicago, so his (stupid) post has nothing to do with Jeff. He likes Jeff a lot. And yes, he has seen Jeff with Journey...more times than me actually.

Tito (or whatever your real name is)

Journey have always been a touring band. The nothing new worth a dam coming from them statement is way off. I believe that you should probably wait and see what the next album produces musically before sending them to the nostalgia act cemetery. Jeff has breathed new life and energy into these guys and they are finally excited to be making music again and I believe that this new found excitement will be as evident as the sun in the sky on the new album. These of course are just my thoughts on this so take them however you want. Just to give you an example of a hack musician that will NEVER see another hit and will need to tour her ass off just to get by is Britney Spears ( and no I'm not comparing Journey to her. Two totally different styles and classes of music and or people.) Think about that. :shock:

Just wanted to throw a shout out to "Tito." "Tito" remains the only idiot on the planet that thought the group of ass clowns who call themselves Van Halen, were actually going to tour. Their original incarnation, who had a penchant for shitty music, has postponed the tour because lead guitarist, Eddie Van Halen, finally realized he's an asshole. Ironically, David Lee Roth, the band's second best singer, received permission from his mental health facility to join the band on tour. Roth, who has spent the last 15 or so years as a "Tilt-a-Whirl" operator at various carnivals was more than looking forward to this tour. "I'm fuckin' broke man. Ed fired me, Sam took my gig, and I just lost it. Society really has no use for an old "has been" like me. The last tour I was on was a 24 city gig with "Washed Up" Entertainment. But they fired me for leaving a blonde with big tits on the Ferris Wheel for too long. She got motion sickness and puked all over the place." Well Dave, this aborted tour saved thousands of fans from doing the same when you took the stage and uttered a few words. I guess there really is a God.

I am writing you this letter because I hope you fall asleep on the way home and crash into a tree. Dude, this is Melodicrock.com. There is no other place on the world wide web that can be as humourous as this place. Journey has been a touring only band, because they didn't have a lead singer. No really, they didn't. They had some geri curled red pants wearing transexual lipping along to tape. However, the other guys can really play a mean instrument. The musicianship is amazing. Fast forward to 2007. There is a guy onboard who can sing now. There is a lot of talk about this band making one of the biggest comebacks in music history. They have the long resume of a solid catelogue. Now they have a new dynamic singer with a stage personna and a sure fire likeability that TV and radio will love come interview time.

You can stay home and catch that Palehose battle the vaunted Royals at Comiskey. That ought get your motor revved up. Meanwhile, the rest of us 100 people will be shooting shots, pounding beers, and watching Redskins cheerleaders using the newly installed stripper pole at Dave's Country Bumpkin Bar and BBQ. It's going to be epic, and I can guarantee you everyone will be fucking pumped up.

Maybe you can go play some Sunday Soccer with Hymie, Guererro, Pancho and Manny. Then you can all go drink Budweiser, smoke Marlboro Reds and listen to that Goddamned mariachi shit....you know, Circus music.
