I saw Perry do Rubicon it was a blazer
This version is not bad
Soto will blow his voice out in no time if he keeps this up.

They sound great... :D
I'm trying to be open minded and listen to JOURNEY w/out Steve Perry, and I'm doing better.
Thank you for posting this.
I really liked RUBICON!

Perry blew his voice out. Soto will not make the same mistake, I can tell you that.

Dude, Memphis FTLOSM is very indicative that Perry did NOT blow his voice out. What the fuck are you talking about? He quit Journey because he was tired of playing so people could pay their late bills and divorces.

St John- I must be your groupie,or one of them. We think the same things. If SP had been given periodic breaks say 6 months on & 6 months off or 2 on 2 off, or ANY BREAKS. he probably would have stayed longer. No, but because he was such a money machine it became impossible to have ANY stable life and a career. I think Sherrie/touring and his mother/touring just took its tole as to the conflict of what he wanted to do career wise and what he felt he should be doing for his loved ones.

Really? The songs are all dropped down at least a half step. Ever listen to the Bill Grahm tribute where they had to drop down I think a full step to accomodate Perry?

Put down the beer Ed, and open your eyes. Image That's a tux.  Personally I don't give a shit what key it is in (actually don't have a clue  ). One question Ed, you've said you want to hear him sing again too. If he came out singing again and sounded like that, would you be slamming him for it? Honestly?

No I wouldn't slam him for trying. Not at all.

But loons say he is "untouchable", "the voice", yadda, yadda yadda. "No one else should have the right to sing a Journey song" and all that fucking bullshit. Pisses me off.

If SP ever did anything new, I would support it wholeheartedly. Regardless if he had to adjust to what he may only be capable of now. If it was good, I would say so - and if it was shit I would also say so. Regardless he would get a big fucking AR gold star for the attempt.

i wish i had $1 for every time someone said this. }=C))

i was worried at the beginning but i think jss knows what he's doing & wouldn't do anything that would hurt his voice. he sounds great. i wish people would stop comparing jss & sp... two totally separate people equally talented in their own right. drives me nuts when i try to get people (out of respect i won't give name of board but i'm sure ya'll can guess!) to take a listen to anything jss & all i get back is... STEVE PERRY... I LOVE HIM! or... THERE WILL NEVER BE ANOTHER STEVE PERRY! i *L-O-V-E* steve perry but that makes me want to slit my wrist... or better yet... smack somebody upside the head. };C)

Steve Perry is the reason I became a Journey fan. Now you have that in print too.

The songs are timeless though and need to be heard live. Let the Journey continue.
