OT: Band on Tonight Show (Jay Leno), Last night?

Hey Folks...sorry, I don't usually do this, but figured the audience on these forums may know...

Someone was telling me about a band that performed on the Tonight show, either last night, or the night before...they weren't the headlining act...but I'm told they sounded really good, the singer sounded like Freddie Mercury re-incarnated...(had black hair), and that they basically rocked...Did anyone catch this? The person that saw it said it was a rebroadcast (3:00 a.m in the morning)...

A shot in the dark, but anyone that has some info or the band name...would be much appreciated.

cheers

- Brandon

Wow. Freddie Mercury is a great comparison. Sounds just like him.

This is pretty funny...
A few weeks ago I did a Google on Freddie and this guy Mika kept popping up.
He's been garnering comparisons for awhile, I guess.
Then I heard his tune, "Grace Kelly", on the radio last week and
put 2 & 2 together.
He does sound pretty good.
If anyone gets his album I'd love to read a review.

Listening now to this cd, As far as the greastest pop cd ,sorry i cant see that at all especially since this guy is so dangerously close with so many 70's and 80's bands and their hits. I'll Let you Know about it tomorrow.

from what i've read, Mika has been doing extremely well in the Europe...CD sales and radio play....

his U.S. promotional push is now in place, and i've been seeing some good press..

by the way, i just purchased his new CD.....very refreshing! some great sounds, excellent writing and very unique. diffinately has a big freddie influence

Well, it's fully admitted he's doing Mercury when early in the song there's a line "So I tried a little Freddie" followed immediately by a ridiculous layered Queen style "Ahhahh"

The studio version (in this link) works, but I clicked one of the links on the sidebar to a live performance and it's abysmal. Definitely a studio artist that needs the production. But nice to hear something different, and always cool to hear someone appreciating Queen these days.
