JSS & Metal Skool - Don't Stop Believin!!

PostPosted: Mon Apr 09, 2007 9:25 am

Just came across this on youtube, Jeff singing with Metal Skool, the popular 80's hair band spoof band in LA. I imagine this was recent as Jeff's hair looks similar to clips from the latest tour & they're just home from Europe. You gotta see this band, they pack out the Key Club EVERY Monday night, standing room only, making fun of the whole hair band genre by pretending it still exists, great fun. The usually have whatever celeb is in the house (Kelly Clarkson, Tony Romo, David Draiman from Disturbed) hop on with them as you'll find on other youtube Metal Skool searches...I think they were even at one point linked to the Boogie Knights organization,

Yep, that was last Monday night, April 2...these guys are killer, all buds of mine, & yes, they were part of the BK org but now on their own doing quite well...if you're in LA on a Monday night (& if you can get in), you gotta see them, you won't be disappointed!

They pretty much do the usual, Def Lep/Poison/Whitesnake/VH/GNR, the hits....but it's more a comedy show, a satire to Spinal Tap....it's so for the crowd here, very sarcastic, EVERYONE, race, clor, creed, religion, etc., are under fire, no one is safe, haha. Complete grain of salt but it's everything from girls flashing boobs to attacking celebs profiles....all fun & games with a grain of salt....everyone once in a while they play a song!

Actually, I was told Perry was supposed to be there that night....I probably wouldn't have sung with them out of respect, well, not a Journey tune anyway, if he showed up...he never did anyway.

You might could have gotten him up on stage and done a song with him though. How cool would that be?

Holy Shit! I was kidding.....but wow what a near miss of a great duo that would have been. I'm still crossing my fingers. If I ever witnessed that in person....well, I'd be the one passed out on the floor missing the whole thing!
