stole this OT from out of all places accuweather.com!!
Hey its a slow work day!!
yes or no... if yes why and no why.
NO for me---reason being... 150-300 seperate phone conversations... UGH.. You think the flight crew goes nutty sometimes now, just wait until at 30000 feet high---listening to moms talking to kids, managers yelling at their staffs---husbands yelling at their wifes... It would be complete chaos and disaster waiting to happen!!

I don't get all the hoopla. You can't use cell phones now anyway.

I think I remember hearing a while back that the cell phone ban was going to be lifted.

I question why as to the ban. I am not so sure they "interfere with flight ops." Amtrak banned cellphones too, in certain cars...not because of interferring, but for passenger comfort.

It'll never happen, not because it interferes with anything that has to do with the plane actually flying, but because the Cell phone companies won't allow it to happen. They would lose too much in profits. That said, it's one thing I agree with. When I'm on a flight, I don't need any more noise than what's already on there, drunks talking overly loud, babies crying, Crappy movies and music on the airline stations, etc. If I can't use my video camera on the plane, then why should the person next to me be allowed to yap his trap all the way through a 6 hour flight?

Maybe the ought to do what some restaurants, churches, etc., do and jam the signals so people CAN'T use them while they are onboard.
