Forgive me, as I know this is covered territory...
What songs were left off the DVD but were originally aired on the MTV concert?
Anyone have a copy of the original, unedited show on DVD?
Thanks...

Umm....The DVD is the complete show (minus The Party's Over, which was not broadcast on MTV, except for a few seconds during the credits)...

I taped it off the tv and it was right at an hour so I'm sure stuff was left out of the broadcast vesion. that's all I know.

I have a tape of the original broadcast that I bought off ebay a few years ago. I believe the dvd includes all the footage that they have. I'll have to rewatch it to be 100% since it's not my favorite Perry era concert but I really think that what's on the dvd is all there is.
However, the mix IS different. Neal's rhythm guitar is a LOT louder on the original broadcast than on the dvd, where he's mostly just brought up in the mix during his solos.

Thanks, Jeremy. I could have sworn there were a few songs left off the DVD, but I have been wrong MANY times.

I have a tape of the original broadcast and it's the same as the DVD, except for the quality of course.

I remember seeing the '81 and the DVD looks the same as the one on Mtv, but, I also remember seeing one BEFORE Houston.
No one seems to remember that one. Maybe I sucked in too much salt water

nope not quite. some of Steve's improvs are different than the broadcast---and Smitty's solo is longer on the dvd.

In this day and age, we can't locate a setlist for that night?
Why after however many songs would they leave only TPO off, too? Oddball. TV execs were fools even back then.

I had heard, but never saw "Dead or Alive" before (nor Steve Smith smoking ciggarettes before), but I did on the DVD...

I meant the same songs were on it as on the DVD.

Parts of Smitty's Drum Solo & "Dead Or Alive" never were broadcast on MTV. They were broadcast on the "Supergroups" radio show. Everything else on the DVD was on MTV as well. the only stuff missing from the video is "The Party's Over" & "Lovin' You Is Easy" They were played right after "Stay Awhile" that's why "The Party's Over" bonus track audio on the CD fades out at the end. At the show it jams right into "Lovin' You Is Easy"
