just got the new reo disc and love it, but couldn't help but notice that founding member neal doughty only plays on the first song on the disc. the rest of the keys are handled by the producer. can anyone shed any light on this?

I have no idea.
They were suppose to be here, in Mobile, in March, but, they cancelled.
It would interesting to find out what's going on..

Well, they were supposed to tour with Boston, but unfortunately, Brad Delp passed away so no tour....

Yeah, I know, Deano, it's sad, I'm sure that's why the concert was cancelled.
Still the question why Neal only played one track on their new album.
Hopefully, we'll find out soon, they won't keep us waiting.

Have you read the interview Andrew has with Kevin on the Frontpage? I don't remember if it answers your specific question but it might.

Go to Speedwagon.com, and sign up for Kevin's newsletter. He lives right down the street from me, I should run down there and ask him.

Or call Azoff Mgt and ask them, or better yet, ask Andrew. That fucker is the burning bush of all things Azoff....

I noticed they changed the CD's title from the "Brotherhood" to the current "Find Your Own Way Home."

That would be strange considering he's the only original member of the band thats hung around all this time. maybe it was illness he is 61.

I didn't notice that. I listened to it 2 or 3 times and decided Dean was right and they're completely pussified!!!! Gary Richrath was the rock in that band. :( They blow now!

Above is another interview with Kevin, to go along with Andrew's. A quick read thru both and could find no mention of Neal.-ERIC

The soundbytes of Speedwagon that Andrew had up sounded good to me. I wouldn't mind picking up the disc.

No, didn't have the album credits, so didn't know, so didn't ask :)

1985 was their peek, nothing significant has come of them since then.

On Allexperts.com, the webmaster of http://Speedwagon.Info gave a pretty good chronology of Doughty's history with this project.

You reviewed the album. How can you do that without even glancing at the credits?

I have been doing this long enough to know what I am doing, but seeing as you are quationing this, I'd like to refer you to what is commonly known in the industry as a PROMO copy.

Individual track credits are generally not listed or included with such pressings. Very minimal information. I use what I am sent and the music does the rest.

Fair enough. But it seems to me that at least knowing who the players are on an album is an integral part of providing an honest review. You're a huge Peterik fan. Wouldn't you at least liked to have known he co-wrote one of the songs?

I see.

It's like that is it? Perhaps I should ask what part of the review you do not consider honest?

And while I am here, your avatar is way oversize. Please fix.

I don't think your review was necessarily "dishonest." Lots of reviews fawn over an artist's latest work to score an interview. You aren't the first. But what if Cronin rounded up a bunch of session players to hack out his latest sap? You'd never know the difference since you didn't having a clue who played on the album.

And while I'm here, your anatomy is way oversize. Please fix.

LOL! You ain't going to last long around here. I suggest you take up your "issues" with Kevin Cronin.

And next time you are bored, take a look thru this website. You might learn something. Fawning over an artist just to get an interview. What a fucking laugh!

I don't have any "issues" with Kevin Cronin. The new REO CD is pure crap, as 90% of the people here attest. You seem to be the only one giving it glowing reviews, without even knowing an original member and key player from the band is missing. Now THAT'S a laugh!

Didn't what? Give a crappy CD a glowing review, or didn't know that an original founding member of the band took a pass on the whole project?

LMAO! You don't have to be an ex-member of REO to know this album blows. All you have to do is actually listen to it and know who's missing.

You obviously know NOTHING about this site, how it's run and the connections it has Mr. Tuna. I suggest you sit back and learn a little about it before spouting off with accusations
