Read these lyrics that are so very catchy and timeless, should women really do this or is this crapola?

TAMMY WYNETTE
Stand By Your Man
(Tammy Wynette/Billy Sherrill)

Sometimes its hard to be a woman
Giving all your love to just one man
You'll have bad times
And he'll have good times
Doing things that you don't understand

Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And tell the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

But if you love him you'll forgive him
Even though he's hard to understand
And if you love him
Oh be proud of him
Cause after all he's just a man

Stand by your man
Give him two arms to cling to
And something warm to come to
When nights are cold and lonely
Stand by your man
And tell the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

Stand by your man
And show the world you love him
Keep giving all the love you can
Stand by your man

Any man who wants to be thought of as "just a man" ain't a man in my eyes. And any woman who would put up with any kind of abuse because he's "just a man" is just stupid.

If you read every 10th letter in Genesis, you will find that this is in the bible. Ladies, wouldn't want to piss off God now, would ya?

Completely serious here and no b.s.

My wife and I are total equals. I depend on her for everything. However, she WANTS me to take charge at times. And I do. Man and Woman / Husband and Wife.

Not a sexist comment, just how it is. She is every bit my equal and partner, but never bitches or nags. A total gem.

We are the same. We discuss and decide things together but there are times when I just want him to take care of things. It's worked for us for this long so I guess we're doing it right.

There you go. :)

Every relationship is different of course. And whatever works - works. My wife and some of my ex's have always prefered a man who was decisive. Said it was attractive and what they wanted. That does not make the man superior in anyway in the relationship - just makes that person the man - that is all.

Same time frame, if not.

I thought the song was about standing by him if he cheats on you?

we have that relationship too Ed. I tell him to do something, he says cram it. He tells me to do something, I say you're not the boss of me.

works great.

Wasn't Tammy Wynette married to George Jones?

"And if you love him you'll forgive him"..I guess so; but a person, weather it's a man or a woman, can only do so much forgiving. Then it's time to take a walk.

I agree with you chickpea, we decide things together but I do like a man to step up to the plate and take care of business.

WTF? How did we degenerate to the point of analyzing Tammy Wynette lyrics? Couldn't we glean meaning from Sting's lyrics, OED in hand? Come on. She was a talentless biimbo. I wrote a better song than this when I was six, and that was called "Yesterday" and basically involved repeating "yesterday" with a C major chord on the piano. This is getting out of hand...when the hell is Steve's album coming out?

P.S. There is only one "Steve" in Journey; Smitty isn't Steve, and neither is Fraudgieri.

nutz4Neal and I need some advice about her AV. I don't know anything about shrinking them and she says it looks normal size to her. It looks really huge to me. Is it just me since it doesn't look big to her? Can someone help us?
